Nice enough food. Very quick service. There was about 20 people seated and its very squishy. We chose from the specials and enjoyed them. Menu is not extensive.

We had a nice dinner at "Le Bistro" which was recommended to us by the ownwr of the Tree Crop Farm owner. We were very pleased overall. We shared the scallops on their bed of green peas, and then had the salmon and the fish of the day (grouper). We also shared one desert and had one glass of wine each and our total was 118 dollars. We think this was definitely worth it and the food is the equivalent of a bip gourmand in the Michelin, and the desert made of red fruits and meringue was woth one star. The only negative point was the wine selection. Though we tried quite a few, none of them totally appealed to us, but maybe we are a bit fussy about wines.

Yes, all of you are right. We had a great dinner at our last day in NZ, Akaroa Salmon and Steak, mussels as a starter ( after the delicious homemade bread ) and a fresh and dry Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborogh.
The Service was very friendly and we felt very good in this nice little place.
And we are very happy to catch a,table for two outside on that nice summer evening....

The Little Bistro was highly recommended by our B&B host in Akaroa and the experience was nothing short of fabulous. We had a fantastic dinner starting with a nice soup of white onions, apple and cider (surprising combination of ingredients), followed by a pork belly with crispy skin and green pancakes with tofu, and finishing with a wonderful affogato. Everything was well prepared and carefully crafted along great wines and friendly conversations with the locals. The Little Bistro is definitely a must for those who visit Akaroa.

The food here was amazing, starting from the bread basket all the way through to dessert, we had the pork cheeks, scallops and lamb pie (all were amazing). One of the most innovative in terms of food with highly excellent service. We chose to eat outside and were given blankets and warm bean bags to help keep us warm - loved it!
