It was a quiet Autumn Monday and Red Herring on the river was the choice. We had enjoyed dinner there a year before when visiting Perth. This year there were four adults and a one year old requiring a high chair. Parking was most convenient, the service friendly and culinary advice was honest and informative. We each had two courses as decions were difficult and we wanted to taste as much local seafood as we could . The chosen dishes were greeted warmly. One was definitely the dish of the day and that was the soft shelled crab, wonderfully crisp and seasoned. On advice a semillon sav blanc (2 bottles) from the Abany area accompanied the courses. The one year old had plenty to amuse her with birds, fish, dolphins and small boats passing by. The adults, of course were agreed that it was indeed a most conducive lunch. When visiting Perth we will definitely make a booking at Red Herring once more.
