We started our WA trip here and couldn't have made a better choice. It's a very charming B&B, decorated in style but the difference was made by Marie the charming and knowledgeable manager of the B&B. Her passion and enthusiasm for the region was catching and also very helpful in planning the rest of our trip. The other highlight is the French owned Wine bar downstairs. Makes for a good apperitive or digestive and Thierry & his staff are a delight to talk to. We liked it so much that we came back towards the end of our trip.

I had passed the enticing courtyard on a previous trip to Perth, and took the opportunity to try a Fremantle stay as an alternative to the city. It was a lovely short stay despite the rather miserable weather. The staff were warm and attentive and the facilities comfortable with a personal touch. Many treats were provided, and the ease of getting around Fremantle as a tourist is a plus, especailly in contrast to the CBD. We would certainly return to try another suite as each seemed quite individual.

Room Tip: The heritage floors can transmit a bit of noise, so an upper floor would be quieter, but you often d...

We went for this placed based on other TA reviews and were not disappointed. This is a beautiful BB, full of charm and character. Our room was extremely classy although quite small. The ensuite is small but it is adequate. It was the little things that made the difference for us. Things like muffins, and biscuits in the room waiting for us and chocolate hearts in red wrappers on our towels together with breakfast provisions all ready to go.

Marie at check in was delightful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Wi Fi in our room was handy as too was the breakfast voucher valid until 2pm for a funky cafe across the road.

Although, it was winter during our stay, we enjoyed a cup of tea on our "Juliet" balcony topping of what was a really pleasant stay.

Fabulous courtyard. Lovely rooms (ensuite a little out dated). Excellent service (Marie made us feel like honoured guests!) and the best location in Freo. Can't wait to stay there again. Only bad thing, no parking provided so you have to move the car and pay for street parking all day.

Located right at the heart of Fremantle, various restaurants, bars and shops are stone throw away, harbour is walking distance too. The B&B has a European feels courtyard and beautiful garden, you could simply imagine you are in small French village.

Room is beautiful, always clean and comfortable. There is little food corner which is always topped up daily with cakes, muffins, orange juice and other goodies. Breakfast at Fidel's Cafe across the road is great, it's my favourite book reading spot before I start my day.

The place will not be complete without friendly, thoughtfull, hardworking and multitasking Marie. She's the "everything" during your stay here, the owner must be very greatful to have Marie to manage the place.

Thank you Marie. I will stay here again if I come back to Fremantle in the future.

Great location, gorgeous setting, thought we were in Italy! The manager Marie is lovely & very helpful. Its the little things; the organic yoghurt, fresh orange juice, two slices of chocolate cake waiting for us & great muesli for breakfast, not to mention you then had the vouchers to go across the road for your breakfast which was really nice in a cute eccentric cafe. We would love to go back there next time we visit.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of March. We met a friend at the B&B who had been upgraded to the other larger top floor room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Although nice for her, it was a bit of a blow to us as we'd been relying on using the washing machine in her room as we'd been on the road a while. However, this wasn't a problem as Marie, the excellent receptionist, offered to do the laundry for us in her own machine, which she duly did.

As other people have said, the rooms are lovely with large comfortable beds. Cakes are provided and changed daily plus there was a lovely bowl of rock which took me out back to my childhood. This was changed to chocolates the next night. We had the top floor back room which was a bit snug for two but had the larger bathroom. This had some glass floor tiles which meant that it was very light our first night as the people downstairs didn't switch their bathroom light off all night, but we just shut the bathroom door to keep the light oiut of the bedroom. Just a note of warning about the B&B - there are steep narrow stairs up to the rooms plus steep stairs to even get to the reception. It's quite an effort to get to the rooms if you have heavy bags.

As other people have also said, you get a free voucher for breakfast over the road at Fidel's, which is excellent.

Location-wise, this B&B is in a great situation. There are masses of good restaurants and bars very close by. You're also close to the harbour to get the ferry to Rottnest Island or visit the excellent maritime museum (about 15 minutes walk max.) plus the prison and the other Fremantle sights.

I can see that parking might be an issue. There are parking bays in the street outside, but it's for a limited time and quite expensive. Marie recommended a car-park just down the road which was $6.50 a day and I think could be paid by a card, but I'm not certain. Anyway, we though it was very reasonable and convenient and it was easy enough to pick up and drop off bags at the B&B.

Unless you have an aversion to steep stairs, then I would highly recommned this place to stay.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the front courtyard for the nicer views
