The history shown is very interesting. We especially enjoyed the Batavia exhibition. The treasures and maps collection was very comprehensive.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

Truly worth the time if you are a history or maritime buff. These folks have done an admirable job of documenting, among other things, the fact that the Dutch were in Australia long before the British. The display of relics and the supporting labeling gives the visitor a much better understanding of early shipping, particularly along the western Australian shores.

“Who's Flag was in the Sand ?”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

A fantastic look at the Coastal History of the West. Truely a Great Museum. It makes you wonder what life was like in the Pioneering days especially, for those who braved the voyage from the safety of their Mother lands. The exhibits and displays are world class.
The Dutch where all over the Poms when it came to exploring the West !.

“The Dutch got here first!”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

The number of Dutch shipwrecks is astounding. The brutal and poignant history of the Batavia is the stuff of books and movies!
