There was lots of in-depth information to see but I was only able to spend half and hour or so here. There were interesting exhibits about early ship-wrecks off the WA coast, trade, shipping routes, and I found the info about the Dutch East India Trading Company very interesting, and in general, it was all pitched at the right level (for an interested adult).

We only stopped for a breather before the restaurants but found this gallery most interesting with so much history of the early sailors of 16-17 century that came to 'New Holland' Western Australia.

Stumbled across this by accident. Entry is a gold-coin donation. Huge museum. Excellently set out and full of interesting reads. It's child-friendly and a great place to get lost in for an hour or more.

We went here not expecting much but were surprised by just how much there was to see inside. If you like canons, you're definitely in luck!

Well worth the recommended $5 donation

During a day trip to Fremantle we spent time in several interesting sites including the galleries. Lots of fascinating history much of it showing just how awful it would have been travelling the oceans in the early days of Australian exploration. Masses of interesting exhibits and excellent value for the price of a donation.
