The Batavia shipwreck material is really amazing - if you are and Eastern States visitor it is a reminder that Australia's European history does pre- date Capatin cook- the Eastern states of Australia has nothing like it!

“Not bad...”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Not the best museum, but it is pretty interesting. Would only recommend planning a few hours there, if that. Small and not many exhibits. Entry fee is a little too high considering what they have to offer.

“Wonderful revelation of Australian history.”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

This museum really has so much history. It is sure to interest all visitors. The relics on show are really well done and just so much of interest. A clear insight into what the early travelers trips were like.

“Atmospheric and absorbing.”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Our party of 3 adults thoroughly enjoyed this gallery. The reconstruction of the Batavia wreck was fascinating. We also found the exhibits of recovered items to be absorbing and gave a wonderful glimpse into past lives. The stories of the wrecks themselves were well written and brought the coast to life. The staff were helpful and friendly and the whole place seemed to be well cared for and loved.
