Description: The Mussel Bar Seafood Restaurant sits right on the water at Fremantle's famous Fishing Boat Harbour. Smell the fresh sea air and take in the spectacular views over a pre-dinner drink as you anticipate the enjoyment of one this historic port city's finest restaurants. Obviously, the kitchen's specialisation is mussels but we also offer a broad range of seafood dishes as well as non-seafood proteins and salads.

We had the chilli mussels and also the ones in white wine to share, they came with some lovely turkish bread to make sure you get all of the sauce. It was one of the best seafood meals we have had. We shared 2 mains, but you could go 4 entrees as they are half the size. Service great too

i took my mum here on a monday night and honestly i think she had one of the best meals ever the way she was going on about it. only complaint: the mussels we had were so small. i mean for a restaurant that calls itself the mussel bar, i would think they would be fairly big or somehow impressive, but the weren't. The sauce they were in however was amazing, we dipped all our bread and all our chips into it. for mains we both had the fish of the day, which was swordfish. very impressed with the presentation on the plate, very modern.

Made a booking for lunch to celebrate my mothers B'day. Ordered drinks and an entree which came out in a timely manner. Then waited for over an hour and watched others who came 1/2 hour after us get served their mains before us. The whole time we waited, none of the wait staff enquired to see what was happening with our meals till I asked a waitress to follow up on our mains. She said it would take a few minutes but even after this others who had arrived after us continued to get their meals. Extremely annoyed at this point, we decided to leave. The manager was apologetic and offered to let us have our drinks and starter on the house. I insisted on paying the bill for what had been consumed, left, walked over to Joe's Fish Shack and had great service and our meals served within 20 min of placing our order.

This was my first time to Fremantle. My friend recommended us to try the spicy Mussel at "The Mussel Bar" restaurant. This place was big and cosy and the staff were very friendly. We order the Mussel cook with traditional chilli. The sauce were very spicy but shiok, thump up! The sauce was so tasty that we even ask the staff to sell it to us. The staff were so nice to pack the unfinished sauce for us to bring back.

Went to the Mussel Bar in Fremantle after purchasing a voucher, it has been quite a while since I went there last and I must say, the place has gone down hill.
The restaurant was not warm and cosy is was brightly lit and the chairs and tables were cheap and nasty only rivalling the old Coles cafeteria.
All of the wait staff were very young and seemed inexperienced ,we waited about 30 minutes for our pre dinner drinks which sat on the bar for at least 15 mins and arrived finally, one short.
The mussels for entree were actually quite good but the man course left a lot to be desired.
Being in such a good location, with great views of Fisherman's Harbour it's a shame that it is not maximised to its full potential.
In closing all I can say is ... I won't be betting a path back there any time soon.
