“Fremantle Arts Centre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

This centre is so crowded with happy people, especially on a sunny Sunday with the cafe area always full and people relaxing on the grass area. A great place to look at the changing artworks and enjoy a coffee as well.

“CREATIVE, SPOOKY AND FUN”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Wow - from it's mental asylum origins to the splendid art centre
as it is today - is quite a journey through time, perseverance
and tenacity. This is really worth the time and effort to visit - you
will come away very enlightened.

“Canvas cafe....excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

This needs to be a seperate review, but for now the canvas cafe review has to be attached to the Fremantle Arts Centre, where it is located.
My husband I went for breakfast yesterday (a Sunday morning) and it was fabulous.
Wonderfully attentive staff.
Gorgeous atmosphere from the lovely courtyard setting, where we chose, with the beuatiful well kept garden....To the amazing food.
Lovely music playing in the background, not too loud or obtrusive. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed.
Even a chef came out and as he walked out, he greeted us.
The manager came over to make sure we were happy as he had seen me gazing around, must have thought I needed something.
The price was in line with your average cafe. We chose to have the pan breakfast as I had seen a photo of it being served in a frypan. My husband likes something a bit different LOL, so I knew he would get a kick out of it. $21 for buttered spinach, red wine mushrooms, bacon, eggs any way, grilled tomato, home made bread and salad.
Many of the dishes were served in the frypan. Some of them had a Middle Eastern Influence, yum.
Some were just plain exotic like home made waffles with caramalised butterscotch bananas with double cream :) (going back for that one :)
We were seated at 9.15 and there were a few there, by 10am it was rocking.
It also does lunch etc and just coffee.
You can sit inside or in the courtyard (lovely) or when full, in the grounds of the art centre.
Toilets clean, they take eftpos too, not just cash..
We will absolutely be back and sooner rather than later..

“Closed whilst exhibition being changed”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

We took the CAT bus there but walked back to the town centre when we found all the galleries were closed. New exhibitions were being installed. Why they could not do them one room at a time so there is always something for visitors to see I do not know. They do have a couple of computers in the reception which are free to use and I made use of these to check my emails. There was also a very nice souvenier shop. The cafe was also closed perhaps we arrived too late for that, given there was no exhibition.

“great place to watch concerts or go for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

The Pete Murray concert here was just spectacular. I will make an effort to go to concerts here more often!

Every time I have been here it is always full of people, especially families. It has a great atmosphere and there is always something on and always something to see.
A must go place to visit if you are in Freo. They also have a store as well as a place that serves lunch.

A very historic place indeed!
