“Quite small, so very busy. Centrally located”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

It was very busy when we went in and it's a small visitor centre, with not as much information on offer as any other centre we have been to across WA. Perhaps if you are doing both Perth and Fremantle, head to the Perth office instead. Friendly staff though

Thank you for your feedback we appreciate you taking the time to do so.

I am going to echo my comments from a similar review:

We do agree our centre is quite small when comparing it to others in the area.
As part of an upcoming project - Kings Square Redevelopment Project the City of Fremantle administration building and Fremantle Visitor Centre will be revamped which will allow for a purpose built centre.

At the moment we have over 147 businesses that advertise via brochure racking within the centre which are divided into each of the regions - Fremantle accommodation, Fremantle attractions, Fremantle tours, Fremantle businesses, Events, Experience Perth, South West, North West, Coral Coast & Golden Outback.

We also have window display advertisements and adverts on our external television screen for additional promotion our products as well as two comprehensive websites.

We do try to balance it the best we can so that we are providing the most relevant brochures that our visitors look for without cluttering the centre and providing a high level of customer service.

“Fremantle Visitor Centre”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

Booked my hotel from Melbourne for Fremantle accommodation on the internet and unfortunately, when my husband and I arrived, were shocked and disappointed at what we found.
Exhausted after a 3 hour drive and disillusioned, didn't know what to do. We were directed to the Fremantle visitor centre.
We served by an enthusiastic and informative staff member, Ben, who immediately after a few details, knew exactly what accommodation would suit us. Displaying his efficiency, made a few phone calls, had our accommodation all organised. We immediately had this huge burden lifted from our shoulders. On viewing the accommodation, it was fantastic!! He knew exactly what we wanted. It was perfect.
We were extremely grateful that someone like Ben demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for his job, and was able to allow us to continue our trip without anymore setbacks.
More of us need to use the Visitor Centres. These people know their stuff and are lifesavers.. Thanks Ben. You made our stay in Fremantle even more memorable because of your magnificent foresight and advice. You know your stuff…….

We hope we can assist you again in the near future but under different circumstances.

“Great location, bereft of much of interest”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

Centrally located in Fremantle in an old building this Visitor Centre has to be the poorest of its ilk I've come across in a major Australian centre.

The staff are friendly. The place is centrally located (as mentioned earlier) but it's just that it has a dearth of interesting promotional material. I've been here several times and each time it is surprisingly innocent of the rows and rows of tourist brochures so often associated with such places. There are some, but not nearly as many as you'd predict given the number of attractions in the Fremantle area let alone the city of Perth.

Not sure what the story is with this one....

Thanks Paul for your feedback, we appreciate all comments from visitors.

I agree our centre is quite small in comparison to others - as part of the Kings Square Redevelopment Project the City of Fremantle administration building and Fremantle Visitor Centre is due to be revamped in the coming years which will allow for a purpose built centre with much more space for promotional material and display items.

We utilise the limited shelves and brochure racks as well as we can and have a large array of brochures which are divided into each of the regions – Fremantle accommodation, Fremantle attractions, Fremantle tours, Fremantle businesses, Events, Experience Perth, South West, North West, Coral Coast & Golden Outback.
At the moment we have over 147 businesses that advertise via brochure racking within the centre and that is not including the businesses that have several brochures on display nor the 10 walking trails we produce.

We try to strike a balance between providing valuable brochure information for visitors and not cluttering the centre too much.

Nice selection of maps and tourist guides. There are also some interesting products for sale. Outside on Saturday morning there was a market in the square as well.

If you need to find out what is on and where to go this is the place to visit first. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable and will make bookings for the majoruty of attractions in and around Fremantle.

What a great review, thank you for taking the time to write it. We try to ensure we have all the information a visitor requires so I am glad to hear you found it all beneficial.
We also want our visitors use their time to experience what Fremantle has to offer rather than trying to organise their trip so we offer a free booking service for the many tours and accommodation on offer.

We hope to welcome you back real soon.
