“Top quality and value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Real authentic Indonesian food, especially the gado gado, satays and rendang. Wonderful setting that can be enhanced by ideal weather whereby outside seating is also available. Service is excellent in addition to the value for money. Great place to eat with friends.

“Excellent Indonesian Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

The food is so good, truly authentic Indonesian food. The spice is right yet not too strong. I ordered chicken satay and spring roll. Satay's peanut paste is very savory and the spring roll is just to die for! The waitress is very kind.

“Hot food on a cold night”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

Eight of us had dinner last Wednesday. Restaurant was not crowded which suited us as most of us had returned from holidays and were sharing news. Food was delicious, promptly served, very tasty. Corkage reasonable at $3.50 per bottle. Will be going again.

“Enjoyable meal by the Freo Port”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat at the Cafe before my photoshoot at the Fremantle port. I ordered the big breakfast and a medium sized latte, all up came to $24.95 which was quite reasonable and the meal and coffee were both top notch. You can choose to sit outside or in, so I sat outside to enjoy some fresh air, a great choice and popular with many other patrons. Thoroughly recommend this venue for breakfast or lunch and continue on to eshed markets for a spot of shopping afterwards.

“Dissapointing - But maybe expecting too much”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013 via mobile

We had lunch at Victoria Cafe on the promise of good Indonesian Food. We ordered Gado-Gado and Beef Rendang as these are two of our favourites. You are required to queue unto order and pay for your food and wine glasses, then take a number and wait for it to be brought to your table. We were feeling a bit like Burke and Wills by them time the wine. glasses and food was delivered (Burke died of hunger and Wills died of thirst), so the service pretty slow.

The Gado-Gado arrived. It was mostly parboiled cabbage (which is normal) with a sprinkling bean shoots as la few pieces of green beans and torfu, along with a few pieces hard boiled egg. We would have expected a better balance of these ingredients. The peanut sauce wasn't bad. However, we thought that at $10.50 for a small serve it was overpriced.

The beef rendang was cubed beef in a nice sauce. The look was not the look of Rendang. While it was nice, it was not up to the Rendang available at Indonesia Indah or Sparrow.

While we had a reasonable lunch it was below expectations. I think that trying to prepare both Indonesia and Australian food, and be a coffee shop at the same time is a difficult thing to ask anyone.
