Description: The Monk Brewery & Kitchen delivers Award-Winning, hand-crafted boutique craft beer and farmhouse cider brewed on site in our small batch brewery. You can even meet the brewers as they show you the inner-workings of the brew house! We also love to serve local and global wines and Monk Cocktails. Our chef's love using fresh and local, seasonal ingredients to create drink buddies that are perfect for our craft beer and cider or beautiful Mains (Monk Feasts). Our Monk Loft (on our first floor) overlooks the cappuccino strip (South Terrace) and is ideal for your fashion show, launch, wedding or private event. We are passionate about what we do and welcome you to The Monk!

It was our first time at The Monk on Sunday night (June 16th), we enjoyed our beer, cider and the food. The staff were friendly and food was reasonably quick. We sat outside even the though it was a bit cold but a perfect place in summer. The biggest down fall I came across is they allowed dogs! Why? Its an eating outlet not a dog park! The dog was right near the counter, it may have been on a leash but it was still walking and sniffing around the other tables close by. It was not the best thing to see when you are eating out. I don't hate animals, I just don't like seeing any animal near tables when people are eating. We don't do it at home or with friends and family, there is a time and place for everything. If you look at it in another way, we don't like it when children are running around when we are eating out so why allow dogs. Surely the dogs can be tied up on the footpath why the owners are having a quick bite or even better leave them at home.

We were in Fremantle for just one day and we were looking for somewhere nice to eat. We called to The Monk as it looked different. No one greeted us and when we helped ourselves to a menu the man at the front pulled it off us and aggressively asked us if we were having food. He then proceed to ask us for ID in this rude manner. We clearly look over twenty one but we humoured him. I showed my passport, which was Irish and my partner showed his English driving license. He said he could not accept this and he needed an Australian license. How the hell would we have one of those when we are on holiday??? I was disgusted as he clearly had a problem with us from the start. I feel discriminated against! Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty friendly places in Freo, this most definitely isn't one of them!!!!
