“Spectacular Scenery”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

We stayed in Lauterbrunnen during the last week of August. Our chalet had a view of Staubbach Falls which are spectacularly lit up at night. A MUST is to hike up to the viewing platform behind the falls. If you are really adventurous, do this at night and bring a flashlight as there is a tunnel. Another MUST is to hike from town to Stechelberg and visit Trummelbach along the way. Take the lift to Chute 6 and walk the rest of the way up. These falls are inside the mountain which is something I had never seen. From Stechelberg, take the cable car up to Gimmelwald and you will have the entire valley before you.

Staubbach, the dust fall. Amazing. Trummelbach, the loud water in the caves is awesome. The valley has over 100 waterfalls/

“Nice Fall”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

It's very well reachable and a different kind of Experience. The bus ride is hardly of 10 minutes and a very thin Jacket to prevent water drop is sufficient. Yes it is a bit cold inside but outside very warm. Photographers shall take care for cameras if taking picture inside and shall have very good wide angle lens and tripod.

“Nice but dangerous area”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

The Lauterbrunnen / Wengen area is quite beautiful with its steep mountain slopes and offers a wide range of activities, we particularly like hiking and mountainbiking. However, we now decided to stop going to this area due to the very dangerous bodyflying activity, some type of parachute jumping without parachute, killing many people. Since you never know where these bodyflyers end up to and hit the ground we do not want to take the risk of going to this area anymore. I have no idea why the government does not declare it illegal. Avoid the Lauterbrunnen Valley, there are so many other nice spots in Valais and Graubünden you can spend your time in.
