Stayed here for 3 nights mid October and struck picture perfect weather for the end of our Europe trip. Just beautiful! Staff here are extremely friendly and very helpful and know the area so well - it is hard to choose from the many recommended options of places/trips to go/do. All spoke excellent english too.
Our room with balcony and waterfall view was a pretty good size, very well maintained - but do ask for normal pillows (feather and down are too soft) and when we commented that the quilts were too hot - staff were happy to organise extra quilt cover for us to use as a top sheet (seems Swiss hotels dont use top sheets - rather odd we thought). Temps were very low overnight, but our room was very warm even without the heating on. No TV in room, but lounge area with TV was lovely and good opportunity to chat with other travellers. Good breakfast, and wireless internet for small fee - or their own computers to use to check weather and web cam of mountains, plus internet for a coin fee.
We found the Lauterbrunnen Valley location to be just perfect for us. Although one of the smallest villages - it proved an excellent base for the various excursions around the area. This hotel is at the opposite end of the village from the train station - an easy 10 min walk (not so easy with luggage though), and buses also stop nearby.

We travelled Europe for a few weeks and stayed in about 10 hotels, and all our experience were good (thanks to Trip Advisor)......but this was the best of all. We had one of the rooms that face south and are smaller, but it's worth it for the surreal view from your balcony. You can literally sit out on the balcony and stare at the Jungfrau, a few waterfalls, and snow covered mountain at the end of the Valley. Breakfast is great, the staff is very friendly, and we found it very quiet. The rooms was very small, but tidy and the bathroom was great (strong shower spray too). Location is not really much of a factor in Lauterbrunnen; you can walk to any hotel from the train station in 10 minutes or less. TIP: You have to try Rosti (we had it at Hotel Oberland and it was great!).

I cannot think of anything else to say on top of what everyone else has said! My partner and I stayed in a 3 bedded room (as the double's were booked out) on the 3rd floor. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom appeared fairly new. Although our room did not face the waterfall or have a balcony, we didn't mind as we had a beautiful view over the Lauterbrunnen village and surrounding hillsides and of course, the cows with bells on below our room! The breakfast was yummy and you probably have one of the best views in the world from your breaky table. The staff were really helpful and genuinely friendly.
Lauterbrunnen is gorgeous, I will never forget this very beautiful part of the world and if we ever come back to Switzerland, we will definitely stay here again.

When we booked the hotel, the tripadvisor ranking for the hotel was 8th, and now, it has gone up to 1!! Not wrong at all .... the hotel's a wonderful place to stay ... the south rooms with balconies offer a very beautiful view of Alps and the waterfalls that you can see even when lying down on your bed. The hotel's 10 min walk from station and has good, friendly staff and offers good breakfast. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in the Jungfrau region.

The hotel is well placed at the far end of Lauterbrunnen (10 minutes from the station) & is in an excellent location for exploring the valley & mountains around. You are central enough for restaurants, in easy reach of the mountains & can still get back from an evening trip out to Wengen or Murren.

The side rooms have excellent balconies & views of the Staubbach waterfall. They are however fairly old fashioned in structure - rather like a US National Park Lodge - so sound insulation & mod cons like TV are not to be found. I wasn't sure if the character was worth the loss of comfort here in the end.

The main plus is the friendliness of the owners who give good advice & go out of their way to give a good stay.

The main issue is the adjacent town clock which bongs loudly through the night - though it does go down to once an hour until 6am. With no real insulation, you hear it loud and clear so plan for an early start & expect to remember how many times you woke up. Its traditional.

Overall I thought it was Ok as a stop, but you very much pay for the view. Its one to come to if you like tradition, homely, olde-worlde property, & one to maybe go elsewhere for if you like mod cons & undisturbed sleep.

We found Hotel Staubbach through Trip Advisor and again, the reviews here didn't steer us wrong. The location is ideal, right at the foot of the breathtaking Staubbach Falls (be sure to take the hike BEHIND the falls) and a short walk from the train station. The staff was beyond excellent. The hotel is charming. Manager Miriam and assn't Mila were as pleasant and helpful as can be. They actually table hopped during the delicious included Swiss breakfasts to ask each guest if they could help advise them on the day's sightseeing and other travel plans. The hotel is charming. Rooms all have great views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Try to get one that faces South, toward Staubbach Falls. The entire hotel is clean and well maintained. Showers were GREAT. Sink is in the room. Windows are modern and sound insulating, but leave them open to hear the sounds of the river that runs through town and the church bells that mark the hour (until midnight, I think). Take the hikes that Mirain and Mila recommend to Wengen, up to the JungFrau, along the valley floor and up to Murren on the Gondola.

This is unquestionably the best place to stay in Lauterbrunnen. When booking, remember to ask for the south facing rooms (although they cost a little extra, they are worth it), preferably their south facing corner room, which is particularly large. The rooms have a very nice balcony, where you can sit and gaze at Staubbach Falls which is right in front.

Our south facing corner room was really large and comfortable, with balconies on two sides. We found the place very clean. OK the toilet was a little tiny, but manageable. They even had a small elevator, which was a pleasant surprise. Their breakfast room is huge, and they have comfortable lounges with sink-in armchairs, computer terminals etc. And free coffee/tea throughout the day.

The reception staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We paid 150 CHF per night in high season, and loved this hotel.
