And the view from the top out to the valley is wonderful. Well worth the few francs it costs to see.

Dont miss this unique tunneling and beautiful waterfalls. Plenty of photo ops and little adventurous climbing all the way in to its tunnels. Be sure to watch your step as the areas near the waterfalls are quite slippery. Even the elevator ride was fun by itself.

I chose this place because I saw it on Rick Steve's tv show. The whole area is a complete idyllic paradise, but this waterfall is something special. The waterfall has carved out the inside of the mountain, producing over a dozen different waterfalls. Inside, the views are amazing, and the sound of rushing water is very loud. The best waterfall is near the outside and is kinda half in half out of the mountain. It quark screws, and is pretty tall. There is a platform near the waterfall, and I recommend (if you are traveling with people) have them stand on the platform and take a photo of them from up the stairs a bit. You get the platform and park of the waterfall. I took a photo of my wife as described above, and it is one of my favorite photos of all times, and always impress people who see it. Nature is awesome.

We were planning on visiting this place...and when we did we were really amazed. Living in Dubai, all you see is manmade superstructures around you... But this place just dropped our jaws,, and the access provided but the swiss authorities responsible is commendable...
Although the place is a little damp and dark but awe inspiring...

This activity is really below average for me when considering all the other activites in the region. Don't get me wrong, the falls are impressive, but you are mostly inside a cave like environment when viewing the powerful falls. Some climbing in slippery areas are involved and you spend much of the time waiting for other tourists to clear away.
We went to the falls on a cloudy day because we didn't want to waste time in the mountains if the views were in cloud cover.
Of all the things we did in Berner Oberland and we did a lot (Jungfrau, Schilthorn, Hang gliding, hike First to Bachalpsee, via ferrata, cruise on Lake Brienz) this ranks last and we wouldn't have gone if the weather was nice.
