“Worth the stop.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

We came here after doing the Via Ferrata. Beautiful caves carved out by the alpine water flows. Because you are smack dab in the middle of these gorgeous natural water carvings, it is difficult to get a photo that will capture the surroundings. We discovered if you use the iphone camera landscape feature and turn it on its side, you can get some incredible shots.

“Thunder Rock”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

This waterfall is an amazing site. On the way there you can see the rivers formed by the melting glaciers at the top of the mountains. Once there you take the elevator part of the way and you climb the stairs inside the mountain for amazing views of this waterfall. The force of the water coming down the crevices and tunnels of the mountain is unbelievable. Climbing down the mountain allows for great views of the valley.

“Nice area, worth a trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

An elevator will bring you up part way and I had a leg injury so I got off here and my husband hiked the rest himself. I felt it was worthwhile with plenty to see even if you dont hike the full height.
The drop of the falls is impressive. Stop and watch the flowers beside the signage to catch an alpine hummingbird or two! Check out the nearby airport to see the modern, colorful helicopters and the up close cows at pasture.

“The power of the water is immense”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

We walked from Lauterbrunnen, it took maybe 30 minutes. Once there you take a lift most of the way, the rest is by steps, quite a few and quite steep.

The path winds its way through the rock following the holes, gulleys and channels cut out by the force of the water. It is loud, it is wet but the thunder of the water forcing its way through the rock is incredible.

“Prepare to be soaked”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

A most unusual waterfall, flowing inside the mountain and only fully emerging just before ground level. It's a pleasant walk from the road up to the lift that takes you about half way up the mountainside. From there it's all steps, often steep and narrow, usually slippery, to the top and then down again.

The water flows over a series of falls at various levels that you reach through man made tunnels and steps carved through the rock. Various vantage points give great views of each fall. Photo opportunities abound, however I found that photos fail to capture the sheer size and volume of the falls. And it's a long way down to the bottom again, with water dripping, cascading and spraying over you the whole way.

There's also a great view of Lauterbrunnen town from the top of the lift if the weather is kind. It's certainly worth the admission price, and something you probably won't see anywhere else.
