The Staubbach Waterfall is an ever present backdrop for Lauterbrunnen. However, it is more impressive to view it from a distance than up close. You can hike to the edge of the falls. However, the angle at the top of the trail allows you to see only the edge of the water spray with the rest of it obscured by the cliff wall. It's a fairly steep climb to the falls but not difficult if in shape. The views of the valley from the trail up are not really that impressive. But, be sure to get a clear view of the falls from a distance.
