Very impressed with the villa, pool and grounds. Situated in a quiet rural area but only short drive to nearest town and shops etc. Suited us perfectly for a relaxing holiday.
Scorching weather during the holiday, 44 degrees at the hottest, even the locals were feeling it! The A/C was essential and made the villa really cool and comfortable.
A number of lovely restaurants nearby, we particularly liked Lagar Mequita, just outside Sao Bras.
Gareth, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. He quickly sorted out any problems that occurred.
We had a great holiday and would highly recommend Casa Gallo to others.
The villa itself is lovely. We found everything clean and tidy and there is bags of space available. The villa seems to be set in grounds of somewhere between 0.5-1 acre of land. The swimming pool is a small walk away from the villa itself with a separate building housing a fridge and many items for use in the pool. We found everything we needed inside the villa including lots and lots of towels, all cooking items required. The host was at the villa as we arrived and even helped as we seemed to have taken a slight detour getting there, however it is only 20 minute drive from the airport if you go the correct way. It is well situated for trips out to places like Fuseta and Tavira both of which are recommended. The villa really is good value for the price and nothing seemed too much trouble.

We spent 14 nights in this villa and loved every minute. The villa is situated down a quiet track and is very private but not to far away from Moncarapacho, Ohlao and Tavira.
The inside of the villa is well presented, clean and tidy with a good lounge/dining area. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a separate one bed cottage but we didn't use this. The air-con is a must have as stayed very warm outside all day and night. Outside there are 2 seating areas with tables & chairs plus a roof terrace - great for watching the sunset with a glass of wine.
The pool is saltwater so no chlorine smell and doesn't sting your eyes. You hardly notice that it is saltwater as very low concentration compared to seawater. The pool area is lovely and enjoys full sun all day - great for sunbathing. Garden is pretty big and good to explore.
There are lots of things to do along the coast although we didn't do much. The Olive Grove in Moncarapacho offers a tours and olive oil tasting. Was very nice. Good beaches which are a short ferry ride from local towns such as Tavira, Olhao, Fuseta. I recommend hiring a Kayak from Fuseta and paddling across to the islands. Great way to get you own bit of beach on one of the very small islands. The Nature Reserve at Olhao (Ria Formosa) is worth a visit. Nice to walk around for nature lovers.
Restaurants in Olhao and Tavira are great. Would recommend 'Terra i Mar' in Ohlao for seafood. Ask for a bit of everything from the fish counter. Tavira has loads of restaurants and would recommend 'Aquasol'. In Moncarapacho we ate at António's and would recommend the steak on the stone.
All in all a great place to relax and either do nothing or explore the Eastern Algarve. Would definitely go back.
