Where to start? The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful, professional and very genuine. Every single person we encountered had these qualities. The room was clean, expansive and comfortable with a nice deck and good view (we were on the top (2nd) floor). The groundskeeper works continuously and everything is pleasing. The design of the expansive grounds with the pool is well thought through. There are many lovely places for people to sit and be with their thoughts or talk to one another Breakfast was varied, generous and pleasant. The dinner restaurant is incredible and the Fado night was really heartwarming. Thanks for acknowledging my wife's birthday with a song and a bottle of bubbly. Neither one of us knew this was coming. It was a total surprise by a caring staff. These types of actions and responses are nurtured from the top. The owner has a vision. Though I did not meet him personally I did overhear him speak to someone about this property and he did so with deep, justifiable pride. There are so many great memories of our time in Hotel Rural Quinta do Marco both from a people and place perspective. We hope to return! PS. Parking is secure and easy and there are several locations (Tavira, Faro, Silves being among them) which are all within fairly easy driving distances. So, lots to do. When you return, come back and soak in the ambiance, enjoy your room and terrace, take a dip in the pool, have a snack and or a drink from the bar. In all my travels, there are four places I would gladly return time and time again and this is one of them. I would love to have the financial resources to bring these owners together in the off season so they might talk with one another and share what they have accomplished, both from a constructive and internal perspective.

Room tip: The rooms on the second floor have the most expansive terrace views, though the other rooms with their patios are very nice as well

Our family went south to literally close the summer in this amazing little hotel.
Days were still warm, we spent some time in the swimming pool with our baby, and it was heated which was really great. The first day we couldn’t have hot water in the tub which we found odd but the staff immediately explain what could have happened (energy cut a few hours before) and it was solved in a couple of hours, they were super nice about it.
The views and surroundings are amazing, the garden is beautiful, full of flowers and interesting plants (carob, olive trees, medronheiros :)) besides some garbage here and there it seemed very well kept. There are some farm animals there, I founded the donkey a bit skinny, I’m no expert thou...
Room, bed and balcony amazingly comfortable, spacious nice and simple.
Breakfast was quite good I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and homemade cake.
We had dinner there one of the nights, and I had a boar stew... I would pay to have it nearby anytime, really unique!
Mountains over the ocean, super friendly staff what more could you ask?!

This was our second stay at the hotel & it almost felt we were back home! The staff remembered us & seemed genuinely pleased to see us again. The most special ingredient at the hotel has to be the staff. They aren't just professional they are also so friendly & apparently happy in their work. This makes for a very pleasant environment. We were well looked after in every way, room, food, drinks, information etc. The weather was wonderful & we enjoyed swimming in the pool daily which was a bonus. This hotel is not for people who want to be surrounded by other people & noise. It is beautifully quiet located in the country with lovely rural views all the way to the coast. Having a car would help although we met several people who had enjoyed their stay without a hire car. The breakfasts are sensational with a huge variety of food including a wonderful range of fresh fruit but also eggs, bacon, cheese ham etc etc. The menu for dinner was pretty extensive but after a week there we were beginning to repeat. Loved the seafood dishes & the wild boar stew. There are a few animal residents, terrapins, chickens, donkey, sheep, cats, geese & peacocks which provides interests for the child in us! Good base to explore the eastern Algarve, the hills inland, the river Guadiana & even into Spain.

A week here has been absolutely sublime. The room is fantastic, spotless and fully equipped. We chose a superior room and am very glad we did.all the staff we encountered have been brilliant. The restaurant and bar/ snack bar are cheap and the food is hot and tasty. We visited the town of tavira every day and ate out twice, both restaurant and cafe are wonderful, both cooking home made and freshly/ locally sourced food. Beer on site and in most bars is €2.40 and can be recommended. A visit to the castle and churches is a must. The whole town is a step back in time. We can't wait to return.

We went to a wedding pool party here. The place is in a wonderful setting overlooking the sea in the distance. The meal was excellent and served by attentive staff. We did not stay the night but the rooms looked clean with good views.
