Stayed with 2 girlfriends in Tavira Terrace and found it to be very quiet and relaxing house
Tavira House is situated on the hillside overlooking Tavira yet it is only about 10
Minutes walk to the Roman bridge in the centre of Tavira , you get to Tavira by walking down a rough path over the train line but perfectly walkable if you are steady on your feet. Alternatively it’s a 5€ taxi each way or a walk down the road and steps which takes slightly longer .
I loved the informality of this hotel and the friendliness of all the staff , they could not do enough for you without being too intrusive .
The rooms are quite basic but adequate and very clean, I think the best rooms to select would be those on the top floor which have a private terrace.
The towels are fluffy and a bottle of water is provided daily , a kettle available to make hot drinks.
There is a very well stocked honesty bar in the basement room where there is a pool table and table football , this is an an additional area to relax in , again furnished well and a good selection of books on the shelves
The lounge area upstairs on the ground floor has a good supply of books and is a very peaceful light and airy room , this opens on to the terrace which has chairs to relax in end enjoy the view over Tavira , it’s very peaceful with the occasional sound of church bells- the occasional train did not disturb the peace .
The breakfast is simple but ample, fresh coffee and tea and freshly squeezed orange juice , a variety of breads and pastry provided along with yoghurts muesli and fresh fruit. There is a note to say if you would like to request any food for the following day then they will do their best to fulfil this request .
There is a good sized unheated pool and there are comfortable loungers surrounding, with sun umbrellas available for shade .
The staff provided excellent restaurant recommendations and this hotel would also I am sure be a good base for anyone wanting to play on the near by golf courses.
Over all this small Hotel is very good value for money and I would certainly return .

We managed to get a (lovely) room just by turning up - we felt very lucky as the house is wonderfully spacious, tastefully furnished and very inviting to spend time in. The housekeepers and the owner were ever so hospitable and really looked after us (but not overbearingly so). We Loved the honesty bar and pool table downstairs. Breakfast was delicious. There is a shortcut into town, when walking, which brings you into the centre in about 5 min (bring a torch, the beginning of the path is unlit). Loved it!

We stayed 4 nights in this Villa with our two boys and it was perfect. The rooms were ensuite clean comfortable and beautifully furnished. Decent size pool and lounging area. There was a games room just off the terrace with pool chess and fuzz ball which was great and passed a few hours during the day. Also had an Honesty Bar with a good selection of drinks. Upstairs there is another seating area where music played again nice place to relax. The continental breakfast served in the morning on the terrace was lovely. The hosts were amazing, friendly and welcoming just couldn’t do an enough. We found 3 different ways of walking to Tavira town it’s not far 10 to 20 mins depending on which way you went. The villa is on a hill so the walk in/out involves steps. A Täxi costs about 5 euro. Tavira is a beautiful town well worth a visit. Overall definitely would recommend
