We travelled here with a small child aged 2. The hotel itself is very nice, always clean and tidy. A few chipped edges here and there, but not run down. In March it did have a lot of older residents, but this was fine with us as we wanted somewhere quiet. The hotel is close to the town centre and has plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. We had a view overlooking the car park, but also had a great view of the salt marshes, the river and the town.

The indoor pool was free to use out of summer season, we only had to pay 3 Euros each for a swimming cap (which we then kept for the whole week). In March the outdoor pool was too cold, so this was ideal for us.

The restaurant food was good; we were half board. The restaurant is a buffet style, but I believe that there is also an A la Carte menu. Good choice of food at breakfast time. Evening meals had quite a bit of choice, main courses always had a chicken dish, red meat, fish and a vegetarian option. I think they cover most of the bases with this. Quality was good, apart from one night when it was really bland.

Drinks at the hotel are expensive compared to local prices, but you can buy bottled water and since there are so many cafes nearby we made use of these and got a bit of variety during the day. We loved the Pastelaria Tavirense which is opposite the Cinema, excellent cakes and pastries!

All in all, it was a nice hotel, the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely return here.

Room Tip: Make a use of the indoor pool facilities

There is not much accommodation in Tavira & some of it is over priced, and full with package groups. We found this place near to the market & the river. We got a good deal on room only & had a basic but clean room with very comfy bed, t.v, fridge & a little balcony overlooking the new museum that is being transformed from an old warehouse.
The hotel did not seem too busy and mainly an older clientelle that sat round the pool all day. You can hire bicycles by the bridge & go for lovely long rides into the coutryside & up to the waterfall, or down to the salt flats. There is a large modern shopping mall close by with a good food court. Tavira is a nice litle Town worth a couple of days.

Stayed here for a week in December to get away from the awful cold. The hotel is in an excellent location near the markets and only a short walk from the town centre. Guest rooms are very spacious and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent. Staff are all very friendly and speak perfect English. Tavira itself is a wonderful little town with lots of fantastic cafes and restaurants and it was worth staying in a hotel so near to the centre.

We spent four nights at the hotel and were delighted with all aspects. The situation of the hotel is good, being a short walk from the main part of town. Particularly worthy of mention is the excellent buffet breakfast - no need for lunch after this! The outstanding feature for us was the very friendly and efficient service, from the initial welcome and throughout our stay. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We stayed here with a walking group over the Christmas and New Year period. Our room was very spacious, clean and well appointed with an excellent bathroom. Staff were extremely courteous and obliging. Breakfast very good indeed and the buffet dinner good with plenty of variety. The New Year's Party was outstanding.

We stayed for a few nights just before Xmas. The hotel was very quiet, with a few independent guests and a few groups of mature travellers on walking & bird watching trips etc. We paid a little over EUR 40 for a double room including breakfast which proved to be extremely good value. It's a large functional, characterless hotel of the kind typical in resort locations. On the plus side the rooms are spacious as are the public areas. It's clean, the breakfast buffet is very good with enough on offer to suit all tastes. On the negative side, the room was a bit cold although the public areas were well heated. I wouldn't want to stay in any of the rooms near the lifts during busier periods as any noise can be very clearly heard inside the room and late night coming and goings would almost certainly disturb your sleep - instead opt for a room down one of the corridors which should be fine. The location is very good, an easy and level 5 minute walk into the town centre with plenty of free parking close by. Overall, I'd rate this hotel highly, but it's nothing special so price would be the determing factor for me.

Perfect location downtown Tavira. Service is average,
Rooms are confortable but a little bit noisy (city view) and cold in the winter.
Breakfast is buffet with plenty variety to select from.
Be carefull with all the extra charges: parking, internet, indoor pool/fitness room, etc
