The whole hotel is built around a very interesting concept as untill the mid 20th century the property was the headquarters of a fishing company, with accomodations for the fishermen and the central offices.
In fact, the hotel keeps the memory of those times with a small but interesting museum. More than that the hotel layout follows the old settings, having recovered the fishermen neighborhood (now the hotel rooms), the Church (still open to public) and the school (now the Kid's Club).
Hotel wise, the rooms are interesting even if somewhat small. Each room has a small patio, perfect to enjoy the Algarve sun. The ammenities (pool and spa) are very good and the breakfast is fantastic, with a large array of available options. Free wifi all over the hotel with a fantastic signal strenght (better than I've experienced in most hotels)
The staff is ok. I believe they could be a bit more friendly, helpful and attentive to detail. Just a couple of examples: the check-in process was lengthy and the room wasn't ready by 2PM, even after room services being warned that the customers were waiting.
We've also took the time to enjoy the hotel bar - the food was ok (the mango on my chicken and mango wrap was missing...) but pricey.
All in all, a pleasant hotel for a holiday vacation but with some room to improve.More
