The food is very good and freshly cooked and so there is always a wait. Normally this is acceptable but it becomes an annoyance at mid evening and on weekends.
Some meals, the Tuna with onions and potatoes for instance with a bottle of the Moncau vinho verde are outstanding and worth the wait. Go around 7pm, go to the left hand side room where waiters are nicer, (avoid outside which has become the smoker's area). Skip the bread and bits and order a light starter and maybe half bottle of wine and take your time with this. Follow with one of the excellent fish dishes and more expensive wine. Calculate cost of food as you go along. If busy go to another bar for coffee and sweet and leave amount on table without waiting for bill.
The meal described above is about Euro 37 for two and I can't wait to get back there.
