Went there for lunch today, staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Very accommodating with our young daughter.
Sat right on the bank of the river with a lovely view out across to the island and the river.
My wife had the seabass which was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly, nice simple fresh food.
I had the chicken kebab with bacon, which came with rice, again this was perfectly cooked and very tasty.
Staff were helpful and attentive throughout, excellent location and can't rate the food enough.
Well worth a visit if you are near Tavira.

Fresh fish, served by very friendly waiters. Very child friendly with tables overlooking the island. Highly recommended.

Traditionally (say 10 years ago) this restaurant was the place to eat in Tavira if you wanted a cut above the rest, with good food, linen table cloths and fawning waiters. The latter two remain, but we have had a number of meals there where some of the dishes have been pretty poor. Some badly cooked, some portions rediculously small, all over priced.

Still has one of the best locations of a restaurant in Tavira, right on the river with great views and big bonus in the evening, a car park. But forget it in the swimming season at lunch time as the whole place will be packed due to proximity to the beach taxis.

We went for a long lunch for a friend's birthday as he is a committed seafood lover. Well, we couldn't have picked a better place! As we arrived, we were shown the fresh fish counter and all the many species on show were super fresh, bright eyed and red gilled. Choosing the platter to share between three, we went to town on the selection with ghost prawns, tiger prawns, jumbo prawns (like sea monsters!), bream, squid, corvina, mussels, clams - you get the picture! Everything was superbly cooked on the grill and the steamed shell fish was served with a sweet garlic butter. The two guys who had chops looked on, hungrily! Good wine list, reasonably priced, and great friendly service. The waiter was bi-lingual which certainly helped us with selection and especially when the charming lady operating the grill proudly presented us with two pearl-like objects. We thought we'd check before we ate them and glad we did as they are the ear bones (or sagittae) of the corvinas which are usually kept as souvenirs or worn as jewellery! Yes it was more expensive than any other restaurant we went to but the quality and range of fish on offer explains this. Sat right on the quay side, outdoor and indoor dining is available but if it isn't too hot, go outdoors every time. Excellent day!

Nice service, and a lovely location, though a bit pricey compared to town centre prices. Prawns and Swordfish both delicious, and beautifully presented. I'd go again.
