We found Herdade da Corte ideal for our needs, providing opportunities for birdwatching, swimming, hikes, in a wonderful setting. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts on the balcony, with fresh fruit, yogurt, cheeses, meats, breads, cakes, cereals, all in abundance, and we made good use of the honesty bar. The bedrooms were comfortable with lots of room, air conditioning, and nice bathrooms. Wifi and cell service are accessed outside or on the veranda. The little frig outside our rooms was useful. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this beautiful, peaceful place.

Room tip: Ask for a room near the pool.

This is absolutely one of the nicest places I have stayed in such a long time.
The aim was to have a quiet chilled week away......its here,
In abundance. In my Room, there were no English channels on TV and no kettle. No real problem, kettle is available, and didn't need telly.
The view of the Portuguese countryside is captivating and meals can be had on balcony, taking it all in.
Located very near the lovely city of Tavira, Santa Luis and fishing front of Olga.
The pristine Barril beach is close by also.

Unless an avid cyclist!
You definitely need a car, magnificent Spanish city is little over an hour away and also the old town of Faro.
The staff and chef are super the house and accomodation are spotless, ample parking and lovely atmosphere!!

Will be back!!

We ended our Alagarve/Alentejo trip here and it was a wonderful setting in which to do so. But be aware that this is not in Tavira, but about 15 minutes drive inland so you're not going to walk into town in the evening.
The main, communal buildings are attractive and traditional, with verandahs over-looking the farmland and hills. Our room, "Double/twin" was in the building next to the main building, just above the pool and was spacious, clean and comfortable. The air con was efficient and the bathroom quite roomy. There was ample car parking.
The pool was lovely with loungers and sun shades around it. There is a welcoming lounge, which is where breakfast is taken but you can also eat out on the verandah if you wish. The breakfast was very good but didn't contain a cooked element. You can have tea, coffee or other drinks at any time courtesy of the honesty bar which you settle up for at the end of your stay.
As I've said you're not in town so you may well want to eat at the Herdade and I highly commend it to you. The food is freshly prepared on site and very good, especially the fish and the desserts. Even better the setting for dinner is a beautiful, circular, covered terrace over-looking the hills - truly lovely. The service was excellent too, in fact all of the staff were helpful, efficient and friendly.
We loved this place would definitely return.

We loved this spot out in the country and just 20 mins into Tavira. Excellent breakfast, pleasant and helpful staff, plus they provided beach towels and umbrella.

We had the cheapest room which was a lovely bedroom with a very narrow bathroom. You have to edge past the bidet with about 8 inches to spare to get to the toilet. Shower also smallish.

Solid building means no wifi or cell service in the room. But main building had a nice porch with sofas, tables and chairs.

Would highly recommend.

The rooms are clean and the breakfast is very good served from 0900-1100.
There is an excellent selection of meals each evening.
The pool is lovely and the atmosphere is superb.
We have been twice and found it excellent on both occasions.
