This hotel is in a hilly area surrounded by nature and small villages but from what we saw in the internet when we booked it and the price per night (256€) we expected more! The food was ok but very basic and not better than in an average restaurant. The only difference was that it was decorated very precisely in little cups, bowls with little spoons and much more expensive! Yes it’s a boutique hotel full of decorations but for us it was a little bit too much decorated. Everywhere are candles, old books, cages with fake flowers, pictures, sculptures. it felt a little like a furniture store catalogue from 2006. When we arrived we followed google maps but the pin was elsewhere the hotel actually was, so we needed to call the hotel three times to find the right direction. The owner told us later that she tried to change it on google but it didn’t work out, so we just corrected the pin to the right place within 10 minutes. The pool was very dirty but the sun beds and the garden around the pool were nice. On the other hand is the main road directly next to the hotel which makes relaxing difficult. Overall it think the hotel is a matter of taste. For us it was too much decorated and it tried to be a fancy luxury hotel which is basically not the case. If it was half the price I would have given the hotel 4 points.

My boyfriend and I recently had a stop over at Carmos hotel. As per our last stay, this ocassion did not disappoint. Cold cans of coronas on entry, great atmosphere and fresh linen and towels supplied. 10/10 would stay again.

This is a very beautiful boutique hotel with friendly and helpful staff, nice decoration and architecture, interesting SPA, gardens, pool and breakfast. It was not perfect, but it’s very good and after 2 nights we were perfectly happy with our stay.

Our “mistake” was answering the survey about our stay and pointing out a few things they could improve. On check-out the owner aproach us on a very unpolite way and ask us if we understand the concept of the hotel among other questions trying basically to tell us that our suggestions didn’t make sense and even blaming her own staff on a few points we mentioned such as a crappy tea. I’ve to say that the satff was marvellous. The problem is the owner and manager that ruin our stay in a few minutes.

So, if you are staying here don’t suggest or conplain about anything, because it will be your fault that you don’t understand the concept behind a Boutique Hotel.

We chose Carmo’s to spend a relaxing wedding anniversary weekend. We booked a package including two wine tasting dinners and a massage. Accommodation was excellent, staff was perfect and the food/wine outstanding. Definitely recommended!

You will never stay in another hotel like this one. The eclectic decor is almost over the top. Our room was one of the smaller ones (we didn’t have a patio), but it was well appointed, clean, comfortable and functional. Curtains surrounding foot of the bed were a nice touch. The staff is well trained and extremely attentive. Our dinner at the restaurant was superb. (I particularly liked the grilled sardine starter.) The various areas of the property are very nice. A great place for a romantic getaway. I would not bring kids or families here.
