“Decent room in a friendly environment”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We stayed here for three nights on a three-week trip through the Peloponnese. We had looked at several options in Gefyra (the port) and decided on the Panorama largely because it was well away from the main road and other sources of noise. Our room was not large, but comfortable, and had a nice terrace overlooking the northern end of town. Everything was spotless. The bathroom was small, but functional - although a shower curtain would have improved functionality further. The hotel is a typical concrete construction, with the obvious downside of echoing corridors where sound travels easily. This was a problem only one morning though, when a tour group left the hotel well before the time we usually get up.
The owners are a nice couple who made us feel welcome right from the start. They even provided beach towels for us to take when we went swimming. Breakfast was buffet-style and perfectly adequate. We had the option of staying on a 'room-only' basis, but it was nice to sit on the restaurant terrace with a bite to eat and a cup or two of tea and to take in the magnificent view of the rock. We would probably stay here again if we came back to the area.

I believe the best accomodation available in the range of 40-50 euros in this place!
Very friendly staff, very clean and remarkable view to the rock of Monemvasia!
The castle can be visited on foot.
I consider visiting again.

We stayed there for two nights in August. The hotel's location offers the greatest view of the Monemvasia rock. The room was spacious and very clean, while the WiFi connection was accessible in the room. The owner takes personal care of the guests. Buffet style breakfast was nicely presented with a great selection of home made cookies, cakes, pan cakes, omelettes, tiny toasted sandwiches etc. in the room coffee/tea making facilities are available.

We stayed at Panorama for three nights in July. The hotel is wonderfully clean. We had excellent views of Monemvasia. The room was very spacious, with tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We were made extremely welcome by the owners. Breakfast was buffet style with a huge selection to choose from. The chef made cakes for the buffet which were some of the best we have eaten in Greece. The hotel does do meals during the evening, and as we had been travelling for a while decided to eat there on our first night. There was a small menu offering a choice of salads, starters and mains at very reasonable prices. The food was wonderful as was the Monemvasian wine which we chose. An enjoyable evening was spent admiring the views while having a lovely meal. The hotel also provides a very efficient laundry service at extremely reasonable rates, which I would recommend if you are travelling around like we were. I would definitely recommend staying at Panorama if you are visiting Monemvasia.

We stayed at the Panorama in June 2013 and enjoyed terrific views of Monemvasia as well as outstanding service. The room was spacious and very clean, breakfast was a full buffet and the owners coul not have been more helpful - my wife does not eat wheat and they were our best hosts during our 3 week stay in Greece. Personal service and a hotel that they are very proud of. Highly recommended.

The hotel is on the mainland opposite the castle so if you have lots of luggage probably best to stay this side as there are no cars allowed in the old town. However taxis happy to take you to the entrance of the Castle. The Owners were helpful on arrival (helped with our bags because there are no lifts and the stairs are steep). There was a welcoming tray in our rooms and a small balcony with a nice view. We dined out in Monemvasia and came home late to find the hardest most uncomfortable beds we've ever felt. Got up very early with sore backs. When we told the owner he just shrugged and said all beds are like this in Greece. Cost, 80 Euro and a visit to the chiropractor!

Room Tip: Try out beds first

Thank you for your kind comments. We have the experience of ten years in tourism and in cases like yours (that you prefer softer mattress), we place an extra substrate that we have in our linen closet and we use when our guests ask for softer mattresses. You had check in in the room early afternoon and you told us about your problem next morning in your check out.
Every time, we try a lot to make our guests feel like being home and share with us each particular preferances.
We hope next time to feel more comfortable and give hoteliers a chance to prove the meaning of "Greek Hospitality"!
