This house is a hidden gem in Monemvasia, a real home from home. If you prefer luxury hotels this may not be for you, but we loved its traditional historical features combined with English seaside interiors. The outside space is very private. A secluded retreat with great views from the main bedroom - the perfect way to be independent in Monemvasia

Entering the ancient stone portal to Monemvasia one is transported into another world - it is simply beautiful . Finding the way to Ta Skalopatia one has tantalising glimpses of turquoise sea, white church domes, waving palm fronds, cobblestones, the town square and suddenly there are the steps up to the property lushly clad in beautiful bougainvillea . The sitting room is furnished with an elegant simplicity, all the materials are natural - marble, wood, and the fabrics similarly so - silks and linens ; everything very tasteful but at the same time it feels like home. The kitchen is small but well equipped. However, the master suite is to me the piece de resistance, billowing white curtains frame the dazzling Aegean Sea, the comfy bed swathed in white netting, you could lie here all day and drink in that view. There are 3 other delightful bedrooms and the property sleeps 6. The garden is very lovely and a vine provides welcome respite from the summer heat, and you can enjoy a glass or two and a BBQ, or simply walk a minute to the square and have dinner or drinks in one of the super bars or restaurants.
Ta Skalopatia - what is not to love, a little slice of Hellenic heaven!
