We loved the ancient walled town on the small island of Monemvasia. We saw signs for "Wine Tasting" and followed multiple signs down a couple levels below town to an area we wouldn't have known existed. We were glad we stopped at Byron's Kamara, where older gentleman owner Byron poured various local wines that were surprisingly good. You could sample about 2 oz. or order a full glass. Between wines, he brought various tasty snacks, which proved to be an unexpected lunch. The setting is an interesting, picturesque medieval cellar. A restroom is upstairs. Prices were very reasonable. Byron doesn't sell wine by the bottle, but you can buy bottles of your favorite at several stores in the town.
