Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The reception is right next to the entrance with rooms scattered around the lower town. We had a lovely friendly welcome with lots of useful information about the fortress and the local area. After checking in our bags were carried to our room a few streets away. As expected from the hotel information the accommodation was in one of the lovely stone vaulted rooms - no view or balcony, but that was no problem for us as we were happy sitting in the square or in one of the lovely tavernas.

The breakfast at this hotel is magnificent - I’ve not had better choice and quality anywhere.

So.... why not a rating of excellent? The room was just let down a little by a very lumpy mattress that didn’t give the best night’s sleep, and the bathroom was very small and unventilated, and there was a little bit of a smell from the plumbing.

We are grateful for hospitality and excellent services we experienced at the Byzantino Boutique Hotel. We booked the wrong room by mistake, and one the hostesses, Yota, moved us to another available room with promptness and a smile. We got great recommendations for restaurants. All of our food experiences were exceptional, including breakfast offered by the hotel. Everyone at the hotel was energetic, polite, knowledgable, and super friendly. Loved our stay. Highly recommend.

With so many good reviews we could not believe that the 'hotel' was like this. The accommodation was really bad. We booked a suite with two rooms. Both rooms had a bad smell and were very dark. Furniture is old and ugly. The bath room was really bad. Not towel hanger, no place to put your personal stuff, no hair drier. There was no view from the room, no balcony, nothing. The room had just a door to the street. It cannot be considered an hotel but rather a cheap pension.
Look for other place to stay.

Dear Mr. João, I'm sorry that you didn't like your stay with us but I think that your expectations were wrong. You stayed in the room you had booked (Quadruple Room - Split Level) and the pictures on Booking.com are exactly the same as in reality. So, no room for misunderstandings here. We never showed a balcony or mentioned that this room had any view. Regarding the furniture, it is on purpose old because it is "antique" furniture. The room has a double bed on the ground floor and two single beds on the wooden loft and it is considered quite comfortable for a family by all our guests. You seem not taking into account that you stayed in a building of the 17th century in a medieval castle with all the limitations it can mean. If you wanted a standard hotel room with modern furniture, I'm afraid you should have booked your stay in the new town of Monemvasia and not the old town. This is a traditional boutique hotel in a medieval settlement where no two rooms are the same. I advise you to look better at the pictures and read the descriptions of the hotel or the room you may book next time, especially if it is not a standard city hotel. Kind regards, Anna

From the friendly welcome to the breakfast served in the town square coffee shop to the breathtaking views from the terrace of the room, everything spoke about the beauty and magic of this place. Comfort, cleanliness and privacy.
Probably all the hotels there are very good, but this one is special. If you try it you'll remember these words.
