Funny parking system, when you come by car. Great walk to Grenen. It was amazing to stand in the water - on Grenen - in between the 2 oceans colliding , creating interesting currents. Fantastic light and fresh wind

“A Special place”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Grenen - where two oceans meet. You can visit this place over and over again. And love it. Especially in good weather. Use your bike to get there. Walk barefooted the last mile until you stand in the water with one foot in each of the two oceans, and you are at Grenen.

“A place not to miss, two seas meets”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

When in Skagen, Grenen is a place you should not miss. You can either walk from the Parking lot for around 2 km or take the Sandormen (the sand snake) ride for 25 DKK. The ride leaves every 10 min, thus no need to hurry to catch one. If you take the Sandormen 1-2 hours is enough, otherwise you need 2-3 hours for the trip. It is a very large sand beach and on the tip Skagerak and Kattegat meet. When we were there it was quite windy and the two seas meeting made quite a large splashing scene. Try to get a photo from both the beach towards the sea and the other way around as well.

“Great experience”
Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

It's great to ride the "sandormen" tractor-bus (ca. 5min) or to simply walk along the beach from the parking lot to get to it! It's a must see place if you're in the area, and makes a great picture!

“Tranquil and scenic”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

If you are visiting this region do not go home without a visit to Grenen. We travelled up by train which was easy, quick and efficient, just outside the front of the train station is a bicycle hire shop which is an absolute must for a most amazing scenic ride along the coastal road to Grenen. We then travelled on the tractor bus across the sand to the most northern tip where the North Sea hits the Baltic Sea, quite spectacular and something not to be missed. We then headed back into town on the bikes after enjoying a long leisurely stroll along a fairly deserted beach to sit and have lunch at the marina. A quick cycle back to the hire shop and a train home but wow what a fantastical day we had. PLEASE visit if you get a chance, you will be sorry if you don't!!!!
