“Skagen was our favorite town in Denmark”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2011

We stayed only one night at this delightful B&B, located in a residential area just outside the central core of the town of Skagen at the northern tip of Denmark. Very efficiently run, warm and inviting with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay in this charming town full of artists and artisans. Breakfast was abundant and appetizing with a wide selection of items. Our room was in the "annex structure" but not at all a negative, rather a positive since it was more private. The entire complex probably has 15-16 rooms circled by beautiful gardens with several seating areas. All in all, a very comfortable stay.

The town of Skagen is a gem. All houses are painted an amber yellow, many with straw roofs and all with magnificent gardens. The town is full of art galleries and fine restaurants, although not much available for vegetarians.

The highlight of our visit was a side trip to see the sunset on the other west side of the peninsula near Ruth's Hotel. There was a local brass band of older folks playing "corny songs" at the edge of the parking lot facing the sea. It was priceless (meaning this as a compliment) as perhaps 100 local residents and visitors all gathered at the edge of the sea with this music playing watching the sun go down over the North Sea.

I wish we had stayed longer here as Skagen was our favorite town in Denmark.

Room Tip: The Annex Building is not a negative

Had a very nice stay.Paid 620 dkr for one night incl.breakfast in single room.
Room is small, but very nice. And its a quiet neighbourhood with nice surrondings.Nearest place to eat(just a 2 minutes walk) is a place called Skaw Grillen. You gotta taste the "Husets Burger" which only cost 55 dkr,and tastes excellent!Breakfast was excellent with very fresh and tasty bread. You also get a lot of fruits and desserts! And you get free wifi, which is something u dont get all places in skagen.
I highly recommend this place.

A small (14-room) bed & breakfast (a little hard to find) tucked into a quiet neighborhood just off the main street of this yellow-orange-colored town at the tip of Jutland, but about a mile from the shopping/restaurant/cultural center of the town. No views, but rooms facing the back (garden) are a nicer choice than those facing the small parking area/lawn - both are comfortable, and modestly priced by Danish standards - about $100/night. Breakfast room (in an adjacent building where the owners live) is bright and cheery. Continental breakfast buffet is the usual collection of breads, jams (excellent), cold cuts, boiled eggs, and fish, nicely presented. Easy but not especially interesting 15-20 minute walk into town - if you drive, parking in town is tight in the high summer season (but fine out of season as in many shore towns). Owners are cordial but keep their distance - I happen to be fine with that, but if you prefer B&Bs where the proprietors fuss over you as they ply you with quiches and tips about fun things to see, this isn't the place.
