The entrance to Tapolca cave is situated in the center of the town as the cave itself goes under it. It is best to book tickets in advance as you might not be lucky to get it on the day. There is a limit as to how many people can be in the cave at the same time.
There is a lovely exhibition (you get 3D glasses to watch some images) and then you just enjoy rowing on the lake. One person is rowing the others help using their hands in the very narrow places. There are emergency buttons on walls - just in case - but even I did not have to use them, although I am a bit claustrophobic and at times was a bit panicky. Overall, excellent experience, my family said it was too short - for me it was OK.

This was very nice trip to Tapolca and the lake cave. The entrance is quite cheap and it is totally worth it

after short exhibition on prehistoric times we stepped in the cave. Not large but interesting trip ended at pier for small metal boats. 10 mins in the boat and you are at the end of the cave trip. Bye.
Do not expect something special but in the hot summer it is really pleasent change among the spas and Balaton lake.

This is a must see attraction for sure! There is an exhibition and guide tour about the history of the cave and this area, a short, interesting 3D film and down the Lake Cave. People can go on the water with small boats. The fresh water down there is as clean as anyone can drink from it! :)
The stuff is very friendly and helpful. It is a popular attraction, so it is a good idea to make an appointment (there or on the internet).

Definetely recommend to visit. There is a long line that you have to wait to buy the ticket so it is better to go early in the morning after that is crowded. The tour is guided but in Hungarian, no option for English, you can read though some of the explanation in English. You should not miss this if you are in the neibourhood.
