I feel divided, giving a poor rating to this hotel. The exterior is cute (a traditional Czech log cabin look). Te restaurant and bar are rustic, but cozy and not ugly. The service in the bar is friendly. But when you walk up the stairs to the rooms, you are transported instantly into a communist era 1970s ugliness. Ugly worn carpet, dim lights, cheap room decor. Flat cheap pillows, cheap blankets, missing light bulbs. No safe, no wifi service in the room, things that are common in this day and age in similar price range mountain hotels in Italy, Austria, Switzerland or Germany. I cannot help it but give it two stars.
This hotel is extremely badly in the need of a renovation. At least if they got rid of this 1970s crappy hallways, it could perhaps pass for "1940s chic".
This was a last minute outing. I would not have picked this hotel if something better was available. There are some very decent hotels in Spindleruv Mlyn. But even as 3-star hotels go, this is not worth the 50 usd. we have stayed in 3-star hotels in Italy that wee a better value in the same range.More
