The best thing of this place is the variaty and amount of food. moreover the best place to eat traditional latvian food. don't forget to try special Lido beer, and different types of it. Dark, light or with honey. perfect for beer lovers.

simple, delicious like-at-home food. not a big variety, but everybody can find what they like, I think. Quite expensive, but cheap in comparison with other cafes in Old town of Riga. Interior is quite nice. I reccomend to visit it if you do not want to eat RIMI's food and want to eat simple and not very expensive.

As a party of eight it was pretty hard getting a table in this crowded restaurant. The interior was rough but charming. To order food you wait in line and the pick what you want from a kind of buffet. However you only pay for what you eat.
The food is Latvian with focus on grilled meat of different kinds. The buffet also included desserts, but I didn't taste them. The prices are very affordable! For my meal, which consisted of sauerkraut, kebab, salad and beer I only payed 4,20 lahts (about 6 euro). The staff is not friendly at all, but that is to expect in Riga... Come here for a cheap and satisfying lunch.

We visited after flying to Riga mid evening on a Sunday Evening, has we knew this should be a safe bet to get a meal. Mistake!

All the food looked if it had been out all day, staff were more interested in chatting together in a corner than serving customers, dirty tables. The cashier even managed to drop my change in my desert, and then tried to charge me for another desert.

This place is most of all an overgrown cantina.
When entering, one immediately grab a tray, and shop around in the big selection of different food. You might meet a girl or two with fake marguerites in the hair, plastic slippers, wanna-be folklore dress and a sour face. At leat when you pay for your food after standing in line like in a supermarket. Here after you enter the big dining room, having a theme of fake medieval decor. Even the tiles on the floor is fake. Finally time for finding a table and getting rid of the jacket.

There is tables of all sizes, so its an easy place for both couples and groups. The food is diverse, but very mediocre. Not something worth coming back for, imo.

On my visit there was a children family, and even though the children was screaming like crazy, slamming the wooden lids of the garbage bins, none of the sour assistants said a word. Of course this is the job of parents, but they apparently had grown daaf. Lucky them.

When one has eaten ones mediocre meal with a HUGE glass of beer, one walks out of the exit, again just like in a supermarket.

Go there for the volume of mediocre food, or if you really like a circus of wannabe medieval folklore. I don't.
