Ate here today for lunch. Thought the place was wonderful. There aren't many places where the food you eat is sourced from the vast selection available from the market that it's situated in.
The doris and I walked in, up to the counter, looked on their boards and in the chilled display cabinet and were spoilt for choice.
We both opted for the fish soup (being the coldest day of the year) which was a broth type dish with vegetables, lemon, olives and chunky chunks of salmon. Really sublime.
I also chose a Tuna filled croissant with lettuce, red onion and pickled jalapeño. I also munched down an open sandwich of sardine with tomato, lemon, lettuce and a jelly of some sort. Both were super tasty.
The doris was a lot greedier than I and ordered a plate of Sprats with roast potatoes and a Mediterranean type salad. Obviously I had to check they weren't poisoned and I can honestly say she made a good choice!
We were also more than happy to have a pint of beer each at lunch time (it must have been 5 o'clock somewhere) and these were brought over to our table.
The whole experience set me back 17 euro which I was more than pleased with. 5 of which was the lunch time beers.
The place is very cafe orientated. If you're looking for a restaurant then this is not for you. If you're looking for fresh fish at a reasonable price, somewhere with a bit of character and the option to have a lunch time beer then go for it!
