Sadly we only had one available night to eat here but would gladly have returned and recommend Valtera highly for visitors seeking perfectly cooked and presented modern Latvian eating experience away from the town square bustle. The portions are attractively small and the presentation exquisite. Staff are friendly knowledgeable and helpful. It isn't perfect. We had booked for 8 and they had already run out of several enticing dishes. A little more attention to detail or training on aspects such as when to serve main course wine, replace candles and clear items wouldn't come amiss if aspiring to top ratings. But the combination of the superb ingredients and style, network of small rooms so quieter than many in Riga, and engaging team of staff make this venture well worth seeking out.
