Once you are in Riga you must visit the Dome cathedral and listen the organ there. It was magnificent.

I was blown away by sheer magnitude of the sound of this Organ at the Domus Cathedral. After the concert you can enjoy the Christmas market or if it's an early one, you can see great (and warm) History museum next door.

For a structure that got it's beginning in the early 1200's, The Dome is an impressive site.

There is an admission fee which I am not sure is worth it as there are so many other churches in the city that you could visit for free.

In thinking about the time period many of the churches in the area were built in, the craftsmanship and architecture of all of them is simply amazing.

The Dome has regular organ concerts and I think the cost to attend any of them would be worthwhile.

Nice church and grounds. Strange windmill thing in courtyard garden that tells you to SMS your sins to a given number and you will receive a msg/sign? Cost to enter church was 2.11 lats, however try and have the correct money as the ticket office lady is not the friendliest of sorts when it comes to giving change!!!!

The Dome still is one of the biggest churches in the Baltics, and is certainly not the prettiest, inside or out, but it is the Latvian Archbishop’s cathedral. The Riga Dome was the Livonian Order’s central cathedral until the disintegration of the Order in 1561. In the medieval period, the Riga Dome Cathedral was the largest and one of the oldest sacred buildings in Latvia and the entire Baltic Region. Inside, the ornate pulpit is amazing, and photos of it will include the best stained glass in the church. A surprising find is the interior courtyard, whose covered walkway is chock full of medieval cannons, mortars, and other armament.
