“Tip”

Good place for meeting somebody. Not so crowdy place as Old Riga. Funny thing - the guard of the monument works only until 17 o'clock and 5 days a week)))

“An architectural marvel”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

Instantly recognisable as Riga - if you are in town and need a photograph of you in Riga, this is the place to go, this is a landmark, also a monument honouring the soldiers that perished during the latvian war of independence (1918-1920). Respect must be given to the guards of honour that stand proud for our fatherland.

“A must visit”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Located just on the edge of the 'old town' this monument is a must visit for anyone who visits Riga. The monument is a testament to the struggles of the Latvian People. There is an honor guard standing at the front of the monument as well. The place is also nice for pictures.

“walking around the old town”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

The frredom monument is a must see in Riga, its offcourse historucal, its fundamental to the people of Riga, and Latvia. But its not much to see, its the usual pillar and some names, words saying its the monument. its location is on the end of the old city in to the new or where tourists noramlly dont go to.
