“A must”

A real insight into the country and its people, not to be missed. When you read the fascinating history, you will understand their hardship and also their immense pride in their country

This is a required stop on the itinerary if you want to learn at least something about Latvia's complex history.

“Temporarily relocated”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

This museum has been temporarily relocated, just up the road from the liberty statue.
I was already familiar with the depressing history of Latvia at the hands of the bullying Russians and Germans (shame on you, both) and am not sure why I went. I knew I'd come out with another chip knocked off what's left of my faith in the basic goodness of humanity.
But it was a good display, well put together and it didn't have a temporary feel.
Entry by donation.

“Very Informative and interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

Its evident as soon as you walk in how much effort has been put into this museum! The staff there were really friendly and helpful. We spent a good 2-3 hours there reading about the history of occupation and what a history! Definitely worth a visit!
