“Perfect location and great value for money”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Konventa Seta hotel is great. It is located in the heart of the old town, with everything within easy walking distance. Despite the central location the hotel is in a side road that isn't noisy and has a local feel. The hotel rooms are a good size and have an individual charm that you don't get in the main, big, chain hotels. The breakfast was good and the staff really helpful and did everything to make our stay as good as possible. Will be back for sure when we are next in Riga.

I think the Konventa Seta is great hotel. Ofcourse you do pay a bit more for it, but I think ranging from the service, to room size and cleansiness of the rooms it's very very good. I couldn't really fault it, maybe the only thing if I had to would be the bathroom could be a little bigger. Though that is just picking on something very small. So 5 stars for me!

We changed into this hotel since we were cheated by wellton old Riga palace. Here we received excellent service. Stayed 2 nights in junior suite. The suite was spacious and nice. The location in the heart of old town was just perfect. Breakfast was decent too.

This hotel complex was once a convent, right in the heart of the old city of Riga. The outdoor extension to its bar spills out into Bishop Albert Square, which is in the pedestrian zone, within easy walking distance of St. Peter's Church, The Dom Square, Musicians of Bremen sculpture, The City Hall, the ancient city walls, the Opera House and the Freedom Monument. Riga is an amazing city, with its cobbled streets, beautiful old warehouses, churches, ornate guild halls, stock exchange and public parks. This hotel is conveniently located near them all and gives an authentic experience of being transported back in time. Its friendly staff made us feel at home. Our visit took place in early September, when we had glorious sunshine with not a cloud in the sky. However, it might have been a different story in winter, as we had to go across the courtyard to have breakfast in another building within the complex. I would recommend it as an ideal place to stay for a short city break in summer or autumn.

A lot can be forgiven if front-desk staff is warm and helpful, but these people were unsmiling, curt and almost surly, as if they were doing you a favor. The room was spacious but the bed hard and uncomfortable, pillows lumpy beyond belief and bathroom light very dim. Late checkout was only for a fee; no grace period offered, which we have never encountered before. Breakfast was plentiful but second quality. Would never stay here again nor at a hotel in this group.

We wanted a hotel that was convenient to the Old Town, and moderately priced. This hotel met and exceeded our expectations and hopes! Check in and check out went smoothly and the employees all seem to speak acceptable English. The breakfast is very nice with a large number of choices. We didn't request many services so cannot comment too much on that, however when we reported that our telephone did not work it was replaced within 24 hours. Our rooms were spacious but the furniture is a bit sparse and the TV outdated. We definitely would stay here again.
