This was one of my best experiences for dining in Riga. First of all the interior which is kind of minimalist but still very smart and modern with particular pictures on walls..freshly cut lielies penetrating the environment in the deeper part of resto and a bouquet of cherry tree with some red berries on it somewhere on the windowsill..and of course the concept of the open kitchen.
The team consists of young ppl, very welcoming and positive. The waiter who attended us was a very funny guy with a particular sense of humor, we were laughing for an entire evening there...but the most extraordinary thing there is the starter offered by the chef - 5 different sauces (strawbery, pesto, abricot...) which were splashed on our tables by another guy whit a face expression like its a usual practice at this kind of resto places :D very funny!! Of course there was a paper sheet prepared for this and we were dipping that soft freshly prepared bread in that colorful masterpiece created buy an attender..buy the way one of those art sauces was pesto sauce, the best pesto sauce we ever tried, even my italian partner said so. Actually he told this first and i agreed.
Next surprise for me was the main course - sturgeon grown in latvia. In our region this is not a common fish, it has extinct long time ago in our rivers but surprisingly its grown in some very clean ponds which are fed by groundwaters. I loved that dish even it is a freshwater fish but it was so mild flavour and a very firm flesh..yummy..
Some desert and a glass of sherry to end up this amazing culinary experience in my beloved Riga on that warm friday night of july..
