We were put onto this by someone on our tour who had been to riga before. It's a hidden gem. You go down the stairs into what seems like a cavernous beer hall. Ordered a honey beer and was stunned at it's sweetness and smoothness. Might not be to everyones tasted but I loved it and gulped down 3 steins over the course of our meal. I had some potato pancakes with sour cream and bacon which is a traditional baltic dish. I fell in love with potato pancakes during our trip through the baltics. Ordered more in Vilnius. Meanwhile one of our fellow travellers had a 1kg pork hock. Which looked amazing. 2 courses and the 3 beer steins cost me around 20 euro. But it was well and truly worth it. Just be wary though that tourists are finding this place. We had to move away from what seemed like a large loud group of people who were on a contiki tour. It's a very pub like atmosphere so if you're expecting a quiet meal than this place may not be for you.
