Not physically!

Very off the beaten track for tourists. There is a bus which stops somewhere near it, but we opted to ealk there from the town centre. Took about an hour, there are good paths all the way, over the river and down the island and you are there.

I adamantly wanted to go because I'm a bit of an engineering geek and it's one of the world's first towers to be built/fitted with tuned mass dampers.

The views were fantastic on a sunny day, not much to do up there but is well worth a visit for the experience.

“Interesting experience”

I was adamant about visiting this tower, despite hearing it does not offer the best views of Riga. The cab driver was confused at us wanting to go there and the potholes on the road leading up suggest it is not a popular location. There is no designated entry and you must press a "doorbell" where someone will respond in Latvian. I said "Tower visit" and they responded in English to come in. Was concerned as there was a large guard dog but not sure where it went. Inside it is really dated. You will be escorted to the top via a lift that goes on an angle. The view is nice though you can get better views of old town. The closed restaurant is a bit spooky. The guide also told us a lot about the tower and the proposed developments to the island, some of which seem extreme. I highly recommend visiting.

“Ecxellent view!”

Very out of the way if you're a tourist. Luckily I knew some locals who drove me there. It's an impressive building with a guided tour up to the viewing platform, 77m up. The views of the river, island and city are all very good. I wouldn't say that it's a must-see but I'm very pleased to have been up there. There are plans underway to turn the tower into a "real" attraction but don't expect that within the next few years. Still, if you have the time and can take a taxi, go for it.

“Hard to get but it´s worth it !”

Don't expect to go close to this tower if u dont have your own car, closest bus stop is 2km away... Anyway if you have sometime to walk unthil there, it´s worth it even if when you arrive, there is no sign... its kind of weird... I guess it's from the soviet time.
I heard there is a project to renew the suburbof the place, make public transportation with bus and boat.
