This hotel is excellent in terms of cleanliness and service, it is truely beautiful. Downfalls are the area is a bit didgy at night so as I was away with my mum (2 female travellers) felt stuck in the hotel in the evening. The drinks and food are pricey and the food is just far too rich.... Felt really ill after meal as everything was full of cream and just far too rich and greasy! The staff could contol guests getting drunk in hotel as well, one night we had a very drunk Russian male shouting at us 'English' whilst propositioning us and he was very drunk and intimidating. We ended up leaving and going to our rooms early. WOuld receommend the hotel for value and how spotless it was and comfort though. Riga its self is an acquired taste. The old town is very pretty but the place was not really our cup of tea, a lot of very drunk people all times of the day that think it is appropriate to shout at you (And we English get criticised for having a drink abusing culture!!). Felt quite nervous the whole time I was there.
