This hotel is excellent in terms of cleanliness and service, it is truely beautiful. Downfalls are the area is a bit didgy at night so as I was away with my mum (2 female travellers) felt stuck in the hotel in the evening. The drinks and food are pricey and the food is just far too rich.... Felt really ill after meal as everything was full of cream and just far too rich and greasy! The staff could contol guests getting drunk in hotel as well, one night we had a very drunk Russian male shouting at us 'English' whilst propositioning us and he was very drunk and intimidating. We ended up leaving and going to our rooms early. WOuld receommend the hotel for value and how spotless it was and comfort though. Riga its self is an acquired taste. The old town is very pretty but the place was not really our cup of tea, a lot of very drunk people all times of the day that think it is appropriate to shout at you (And we English get criticised for having a drink abusing culture!!). Felt quite nervous the whole time I was there.

The rooms were quite nice, comfortable & cozy, the only problem was the dripping beneath the sink everytime you use it, and the drainige was quite slow when you use the shower.
Free fast wireless internet available in the rooms, breakfast was good, if you are a smoker there is an indoor smoking room in the lobby with beautiful "smoke" wall pictures.. I liked them !!
Staff was very freindly and helpfull.
The parking system is really complicated, as someone has to escort you so you can drive the car inside an elevator and then you get out and go through the hotel lobby down via the underground garage to pick you car (the other end of the elevator) then you drive it to the parking spot assigned to you,,, and same way when you want to take it out of the garage ... they really didnt have to have it that complicated, I am sure there must have been quite easier solutions..

This is a brand new hotel so the hotel itself is quite nice. It's in the station end of the Elizabetes iela, so the actual block it's at is a bit run down, but it's not far from the old town, central market or the Art Nouveau area.

I had a room on the second floor to the street so there was a little noice from the street - not bad - so if you're a really light sleeper you might want a room not facing the street.

The room (a double) was rather small, but otherwise ok. The desk, the stool next to it and the bathroom top seemed to be rather low. The safe was big enough for a laptop and iron&board were available on request.

I did not have breakfast so can't comment on it - the restaurant looked quite nice.

The hotel staff was very helpful, and spoke very good English, which is not always the case in Riga.

Their internet connection (both wifi and wired connection available) was fast. The only downside for me was that they seem to have firewalled the VNC protocol - so I could not have access to my office computer (this is so far the only hotel I've been to that does this) - which means that working for me was impossible. I guess this is not a common problem for the hotel guests - they probably would use some other vpn connection, but for me this unfortunately was an issue.

But apart from that, definately can recommend the hotel.

We stayed at Tallink Riga for 4 nights. Didn't expect much as it's a mid-range hotel price-wise, but were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is clean and modern, staff are friendly and very professional. The restaurant is reasonable and food is really good (try the Black Rock grilled steak - yum!). The location is convenient, it's under 10min walk from the Old Town and 5 min walk from rail station and market, shopping, cinema etc. All in all, would definately come back there again.

The hotel has only been open since early 2010 and is very well designed with a large entrance hall and a cocktail bar - very functional and clean. The double bedroom was in excellent condition and evrything worked. The floor staff were very good and reception was good (but maybe a little 'stiff''). Breakfast was very good and plenty of it.

Between the station (a big galleria) and the old town and close to the Market (24/7 they tell me and a 'must-visit).

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel to visit the beautiful city of Riga. I payed 59 euros/night including breakfast, what is a good value for the money for a modern 4 star hotel.

LOCATION: very close to train/bus station, 10-15 minutes walk to the city center. Best way to arrive there from airport is by taxi, price 8-9 LVL (12-13 euros).

ROOMS: very modern, comforable, flat-TV with options to see weather, news, ... you have free WIFI as also one computer for free use in the lobby. Bathroom is a bit small.

BRAKFAST: big selection of warm and cold food, plus cereals, fruit, ... so good to start the day.

I was quite happy at this hotel, so i would probably choose it again if I come back to Riga

Hello,

I recommend this hotel if you are vistiting Riga. I have stayed in many hotels in riga 4 and 5 stars hotels(Valdemars Hotel, Nordic hotel Bellevue and Royal square hotel & suties) but THIS HOTEL IS THE BEST!!!
the hotel is new, it is very near to stockmann (a shopping mall) and Rimi, so if we wanted to buy some snack we would just walk 3min and buy some from the malls insted of the expensive minibar:) they have a conferrence center, a SPA, hair salong in the hotel and a GREAT resturant.
The breakfast was very good with lots to choose from :) and there was free internet in all the rooms. the only negative thing that i can say about this hotel is our room was little but it was smartly furnished, very elegant.
