I had read that about 40% of the people of Latvia have Russian origins. This may account for the difficulty I had in getting any sort of warmth from the people who serve you around the city, even if you do try to use some Latvian words. However the warmth of this hotel was more than just in the central heating.

It is a modern hotel with lots of facilities including free wi-fi throughout the building. The rooms are fairly standard for a modern business hotel but the best thing was the underfloor heating in the bathroom which was magnificent. The two single beds in my room were rather narrow but otherwise everything was immaculately clean and the shower gave a splendid high pressure wash.

For tourists the location of this hotel may not be the best as it is a 10-15 minute walk to the attractive old part of the city, but taxis are not expensive and are plentiful.

One tip at breakfast - there is a chef who will cook you whatever form of egg you might wish. This is not obvious at first but as the scrambled egg is turned out in industrial quantities and then left alongside all the other dishes in the hot plate the eggy chef is an excellent alternative.

Rooms were lovely and modern!! Always very clean with new towels and bedding daily! Breckfast was excellent huge choise obviously continental but me and my boyfriend loved it! Hotel bar lovely! We had a bargin on this hotel so were very happy with what we paid. Didn't find the staff particularly friendly or unfriendly but that doesn't really bother me as long as they are doing the job what more could you ask for! Would recommend it!!

Very good location. About a 10 minute walk to the old town and right in the center of the newer part of the city! Small shop opposite for snacks and water! Very lovely stay all round!

Stylish hotel close to city center. Great looking rooms but on the small side. Too close to the central station in my option, that end of the street isn't really likable. Two blocks further from the central station it changes into one of the most pleasant streets in Riga. The Radisson Blu Elizabetes is far better located.
Breakfast was good but the dinner was bad.
Highly recommend the BaltikBike bicycle rental to travel around the city.

Very stylish hotel. Single room was a bit small but with nice bathroom and shower was excellent. Even if hotel is centrally located, no noise from street can be heard. Breakfast has a good choice but a bit chaotic. For every single item have to get up and get it, even cutlery and coffee you have to get yourself. But once you leave table to get something, they clean it right away even if you haven't finished eating yet. However it was very enjoyable stay and would recommend it for it's location.

We stayed at the Tallink from 23 to 26 September inclusive. First impressions were good - stylish, modern and a good location. Unfortunately things went downhill from there! Our room was extremely hot on arrival, and the air conditioning didn't seem to work. We contacted Reception on three separate occasions, but nothing was done. The following day the TV gave up the ghost - again, nothing was done. The bar was extremely crowded, with only two staff on duty, so the chances of getting served were minimal. And to top it off, the vestibule outside the lift on the fourth floor had a foul smell which seemed to get worse as our stay drew to a close! But the breakfast was good...

As a frequent business traveller to Riga, I prefer this hotel more often nowdays. Yes, it's new and fresh, having nice rooms, great breakfast and good atmosphere. It's not noisy, more compact then other big business hotels in Riga.
