This hotel was amazing. The key advantages were the size of the rooms and the central location.

Firstly the rooms are not really rooms but studio appartments. Mine had two storeys with a separate upstairs bedroom (the size of most hotel rooms) and en-suite bathroom. Downstairs was an open-plan living room with sofas, TV, dining table and little kitchenette with a microwave, hobs, sink, fridge, some plates, but strangely no pots or cutlery (so why bother with the hobs?). There was also a second WC. Importantly, there was fast wifi. There was a bit of noise from the nearby pubs and restaurants at night but I was on the top floor. Perhaps this may have been an issue lower down.

The included breakfast buffet was plentiful, with cheese, meats, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals a fruit. It was a little understocked, but the staff were still replenishing the food with a half-hour to go.

The location is very central in Old Town, a short walk from St Peter's church.

There was also a spa with sauna and steamroom and massage facilities. There was a tiny gym with one treadmill and a multi-use resistance machine. I did not use any of these facilities.

All in all, a great place to stay and I thoroughly recommend it!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the senior suite for 2 nights this September. Wonderful furnishings, functioning kitchenette and fabulously comfortable bed. Fluffy bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch, as were the toiletries provided. Spotlessly clean. Upon reflection, the senior suite was a little large for our needs (large bed, large bath, living, galley kitchen, hall) and for our next stay we will go with a smaller room. #501 had a great view, which we had requested.

Buffet breakfast (inclusive) was extremely poor but this seems to be a Latvian thing: slightly off fruit, stale pastries, limited selection. "Filling up" at the buffet is perhaps only for the dedicated!

Service was perfunctory but this did not detract from our stay. Disappointingly, reception could not provide aspirin when requested. A beeping smoke alarm was responded to without delay (flat battery).

Location was superb: right in the centre of the old town but also close to the freedom monument and the city beyond. Walking distance to fantastic restaurants, which were mainly on the other side of the park.

Overall, a wonderful stay at an incredible price (400euro approx). This hotel had a really great "feel" - quiet, private, plush - And we will return

First, be assured I would stay here again. It is a nice, newly redone hotel, with a wonderful restaurant. Read the reviews for all the good points.

I will add a couple irritants, from my four night stay. Upon arrival, there are two complimentary bottles of water in the room. The next day, having been out and about all day, we returned to the room just after four to rooms not made up. When we called the front desk and told them, they said they would send someone right away. However, we needed an hour to get ready for dinner. At first they said they weren't sure anyone could clean them after five. Turned out they could. However, when we returned later that night, they hadn't left any new water. Calling the front desk elicited the reply "you only get those the first day". So it was into an overpriced minibar .

The next day we asked where to find the ferry to Jurmala. Looking it up on a sheet of paper, the woman gave us directions which were either challenged directionally, or lost in translation. Walking round trip 40 minutes out of our way, we caught the once a day boat with two minutes it spare. The next day, I asked the young man at the front desk if the National Art Museum was open, since one guidebook had it closed on Mondays and another on Tuesdays. He checked the computer and told me it was open today (Tuesday). A half hour walk confirmed it was not. When I returned to the hotel and told him it was closed every Tuesday, he shrugged. When I asked him why he didn't catch that on the website, he shrugged again and told me it said it was open every day. No apology, no recognition that he had learned anything, no nothing. Perhaps the liberation from the old Soviet Union didn't affect everyone.

Come to think on it, I might just try Hotel Justus across the street next time. It looked pretty nice too.

We stayed in Neiburgs penthouse studio on the 6th floor for few nights in September. Room had an excellent view over the old town. Very modern and clean room fitted with a small kitchen too & wifi connection.

Hotel is in excellent location to go browsing old town and literally next to variety of local restaurants/bars. Plenty of nightlife during wknds and the area can get bit noisy on the streetlevel but on the 6th floor was ok & slept very well! Afterall this hotel is pretty much in the middle of old town, would suggest to ask a room as high as possible if you the noise is of concern.

Hotel has a small trendy bar, street terrace, restaurant and library. Also sauna/steam rooms, a conference room & small gym altough we didnt try these.

The breakfast was excellent - fresh products both hot/cold buffet, particularly good coffee.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Also good security keycards are needed to access to elevator.

We had a package which included transportation to/from airport, about 20-30mins. Hassle free and comfortable. Overall had a very pleasant stay in Neiburgs hotel - For us it was easy to see all of the Riga old town in 2 days, especially with this location!

Room Tip: ask high floor

Neiburgs hotel was a lovely, comfortable hotel. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. However, we found it quite noisy at night. There must be a bar/club nearby that has music from 10pm til 4am. We were staying on Friday and Saturday nights which may have exacerbated the problem. There is no car parking at the hotel although they can arrange parking at a nearby open carpark for 27lats per day. The breakfast provided was fairly good and dinner at the restaurant was very good.
