We enjoyed the museum very much. You can feel the spirit of age and there is focus on every detail. Worth visiting!

“Real life Art Nouveau - So beautiful Museum captures the moment”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Visited on Sunday morning, too a while to find but well-worth it. The musuem reveals how life might have been in the Art Nouveau period. There are even period hats for you to try on. Excellent value for money and very well informed multilingual staff.

“Do visit!”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We went there in winter on purpose, because there are few tourists and staff has usually time for an interesting talk. This was also our experience here. The museum is in a real Art Nouveau building, home of the architect Pēkšēns himself. Even before entering the actual museum door, the stairway is an immediate eye catcher. In the museum, the rooms and walls are restored with their original paintings, ornaments, etc., and original furniture is placed there to give a real feel of the time at the turn of the 20th century. The staff is dressed in the Art Nouveau style, which give an authentic impression. Art Nouveau enthousiasts should always visit this museum. The museum also has a very informative website, also in English

“Captures the feel”

An old apartment decorated in Art Nouveau style, together with a wonderful collection of furniture and ornaments. if you have wondered what it would be like to live in an Art Nouveau residence at the beginning of the 20th century (and even if you haven't), this is a must-see.

“Small family-run-like museum with some highlights”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Riga has few small but really great museums and this, together with Barona museum, is on of my favorites. Cozy and pleasant to visit on your way, both of them.
(I`m local so I`m not sure how tourist-friendly or english-speaking they are)
