One day of our International Poetry Festival we always spend here. Poets from different countries are always impressed of the main ethnographic exhibition and the atmosphere of museum. Thank you for the partnership, dear ERM.

This museum is in easy reach of the centre - by no. 7 bus or a 25 minute walk. The building is HUGE and amazing in itself. There were three exhibitions on when we went, but we only got to the main one as we were short on time. It was well laid out and had lots of interactive elements. Your ticket when held next to exhibits translates the text into your language, which is very cool. I would have liked more time here. Well worth the visit.

One of the best features of this museum is that your museum ticket can be used to translate the display descriptions into one of seven languages. The museum has interactive exhibits as well as static exhibits. One room has a chronological time line of Estonia that allows a visitor to open a panel and see more details of that particular time. Besides the main part of the museum, there are two other separate exhibits. One focused on the events leading to Estonia’s re-independence and the changes to the nation and the other is a walkthrough of the Finno-Uralic people. One should budget a half day to for this museum.

We were visiting with a group of 30 people from Belgium (ages between 15 and 81 years old) and everybody thought it was great. You can spend several hours there. No Flemish language available but English, French, German, ..;

Interesting und multisided museum into Estonian history and culture, more recent and ancient, as well. Nice architecture.
