“Lovely hotel, very good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2014

The location of the hotel is premium. It's opposite to the Viru Square with shops and restaurants, as well as a very short walk away from the harbor and central Tallinn.

The hotel room itself was quiet, clean, large in size and beautifully decorated with a nice view. I truly enjoyed the breakfast buffet although it was quite busy and there wasn't much free seating available. Anyway I was very pleased that I got to take extra breakfast upstairs into the room for my husband who was sleeping in. We didn't use the spa or sauna.

The only problem we had was the temperature of the room. We could not get the A/C to work properly, so the room was a bit too cool to our liking. Nothing major still.

First time here. Room 532, in the corner view to a main street. No noice. Sleeping quality good. Sanitary facilities clean and working. possibility to work as ok table available. Only flooring boards seemed to have small problems as the parquet boards were loosing each others a bit. Maybe the click attachment of the boards was not working. Breakfast was very extensive, lots of warm dishes, good orange juice (not always the case) fried mushrooms etc. Only small detail was the bun holders, it was a bit complicated to get the buns from them. Having spent several nights at Radisson I would recommend this hotel as the price-quality ratio is better. so very small details were maybe not 100 %. One thing would be to teach the reception personal to smile a bit when you check out. Breakfast entry personal did that.

Room Tip: No recommendations as first time here, but it seems that you don't have any noice problems here...

Stayed at the Nordic Hotel Forum last weekend with a friend for a "moms' weekend off". Very nice hotel, newish, clean, stylish, in a good location for visiting the old town. The spa area was small but quite pleasant, with just a few people around, although I can imagine that on busier evenings it must get rather crowded. The breakfast spread was splendid, we had so much to eat that we didn't need lunch at all. Our twin room was not very large but quite satisfactory on all accounts except one - by some weird designer's quirk, one corner of the bathroom wall was in frosted glass, which meant that if one person had to use the bathroom during the night, the light shone through the glass into the room making it difficult for the other person to sleep. If the hotel could fix this one annoyance, I'd be quite happy to give it 5 stars.

Hotel is situated in very central part Tallin. There are other similar 4* stars hotels in this area, but this one seems to be on most premium location. 7-8 minutes walk from harbour & cruise terminal, 100m walk from old town. 2 supermarkets are within few minutes from hotel - large Viru keskus and smaller just around the corner. A number of restaurants in old part of city could be reached on foot. So it's very convinient to explore the city.
Positive: location, large rooms, free wi-fi, good breakfast. Shower done properly, so no budget version of fixed into the wall shower head as in many other Tallinn hotels. A/C worked well and coud be controlled in easy way. There is a kind of "spa" on top level, however didn't have a chance to visit, so can't evaluate
Negative: eternal Tallin hotels parking issue. Despite the fact it costs 17 EUR, you might not be lucky to find a parking space in underground hotel garage during day time, when it's occupied by business venues guests from hotel. To get out, each time you must go to reception obtain separate exit vaucher - a bit anoying, if you stay few days and making multiple entrances/exits.
Overall - very good hotel in good location, but not car users friendly.

Just opposite of the Viru hotel. Good hotel with nice little spa area at the top floor. Good for families. Nice bar and a good breakfast. All the shopping areas and centers are nearby.

We spend the christmas there. The christmas dinner was lovely, very good selection of food (luckily no Finnish christmas table). Very good service and nice athmosphere.

The location of this hotel is ideal. The room was quiet, clean, modern and nicely decorated. Great view, too. The breakfast was very busy, but everything went smoothly. We didin't use the pool or the sauna.

Nordic Hotel Forum was a positive surprise. Firstly, it's a short walk from the harbour, right at the Viru square with lots of shops and restaurants just around the corner. Traffic is heavy in front of the hotel, but my room facing backyard was very quiet.

Secondly, the rooms are modern and nice with enough space. I particularly liked the bed; it was soft but in a balanced way. Safe box and free wi-fi were included in the price.

Additionally, the service at reception was friendly and efficient.

The only drawback was the breakfast. It was buffet-style with a lot of choice but quality could be better. Most hot plates were rather tepid, the aisles between tables were narrow, and juice was so diluted that it didn't have much taste. It would be better to have less choice but better organised.

There was a 'relaxing room' on the top floor but I didn't try it because I didn't have time. The pool was rather small but the jacuzzi would have been nice. The view over the city was surely good.

Room Tip: As there is a lot of traffic in front of the hotel, the rooms facing backyard are more quiet.
