“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Great stay in the Hotel Euroopa. Its in a pretty good location. The rooms are very clean and a good size. The breakfast is really good and has a massive choice. Great value for money well worth a visit. Tallin is a stunning city too.

Very near Ferry terminal this Hotel offers all services I could expect for a business trip. Price was very good compared to the service received. Breakfast was good and room has nice views on the harbour. For quality-price a very good choice and very convenient when you want to take or you arrive by Ferry to Tallinn.

I had to visit Tallinn for a company training. Never though about going to Estonia and this was a nice opportunity to stay for a the weekend in this nice place.

First I arrived at hotel Sokos, very close to the city center. 5 min walking. It´s a good hotel if you want location, but it´s the typical hotel that in not cozy and doesn´t make you feel you are on vacation. Food in this hotel is normal and it´s integrated with a shopping mall.
For the weekend my wife arrived and we changed to another hotel. Hotel Euroopa. It´s located in the harbor. 10 min walking from the ferry’s (very convenient if you want to go to Helsinki one day)

This hotel was very good quality price. Modern, well located. 15 min walk to the city center.
For 50€/night it included breakfast (very complete). Very clean rooms, modern. The only negative aspect was the beds that are not so comfortable, but for 3 nights it´s ok. I rate this hotel as 8/10.

Tallinn is nice to visit because everything happens in the city center which is a medieval town. Lots of restaurants and places to see.

Where to eat:
Estlander --> Amazing typical Estonian food and beer (ask for the ginger beer)
Porgu --> Modern typical Estonian food. Great quality/price relation, Simple menu but very tasty. Focused on locals and it´s 100% recommendable.
Soups and pastries in the cyty hall. Stand in front of the city hall and the smell will lead you to a old tabern were they serve the best elk soup in town and pastries. Excellent option for a snack.
Kohvik Kompott : Unique decoration, excellent food and creative local dishes
There are many places to have a drink in Tallinn, try one at the GastroPub Clayhills

Tip: don´t take th black cabs !!!! They will charge you 5 times more than a regular cab. From the city center to the airport it´s 8-15 euros.

The service was great when we visited this nice hotel near the harbour but I was suprised of the good service and extra help after we had left. Thanks to that the reception and the staff of the hotel

Hotel is close to ferry port but this has little impact on the hotel or its immediate surroundings which are surprisingly calm. Helpful, friendly staff (all speak English) and interior very modern (in a Scandinavian style). Rooms good-size and well-furnished - with excellent 'wetroom' style bathrooms (ie. walk-in shower, etc). Minibar but no tea/coffee making facilities - so bring your own! Restaurant food good and reasonably priced (typical two-course meal for two with drinks: 35-40 Euros). However, as hotel is heavily used by tour groups, restaurant can get booked up. This happened on our first night when a walk into town in the dark did not appeal! Breakfasts include a wide range of hot and cold dishes typical for central/eastern Europe. OK but more fruit would have been good.
Walk to town is 5-10 mins but not as easy as it looks in that it requires crossing two busy roads. Useful supermarket complex just outside hotel open to 10pm - good for snacks/takeaways. Other market-type areas available between hotel and Old Town.

Room Tip: Corner rooms at the back are good - slightly larger than standard and very quiet

The Euroopa is about 5 minutes walk from the edge of the beautiful Old Town - a Word Heritage Site - although the hotel itself is set in what looks like a commercial development area near the port. Having said that, once inside all is well. Friendly and helpful staff - the front desk ones we met spoke good English too.
Rooms are well-sized and light (to judge by ours), clean and well-maintained. Good value.
We only used the restaurant for breakfast, but for that there was a wide buffet-style selection of mainly cold meat, fish, cereals, bread and pastries, etc. There's a good-sized bar with comfortable seating, serving the usual bar fare.
There are many good - and not too expensive - restaurants nearby in and around the old town (Estonian, Italian other European and many different cuisines) - see for example the free English booklet 'Tallinn Dining Condensed', available in the hotel, for suggestions.

Room Tip: Upper floors give the best views - towards the old town on one side, and the port on the other.
